Dylan was adopted, but all these years Mom and Dad treated him like their own son.
I didn’t get involved with their drama anymore.
As long as Dylan didn’t hurt our parents or our family, that was enough.
Besides, nationals were getting closer, and I was practically living in the dance studio to nail my routine.
But less than a week later, both sets of parents gathered with these grim faces.
I got back and saw them in a family meeting.
‘What’s going on?”
All four of them sighed at once. “Dylan and Samuel, what else.”
‘Those two used to be thick as thieves, but now they’re beating the crap out of each other over Lily.”
I saw this coming, just not this fast.
Finally, Mom said helplessly: “Eliana, can you talk to Dylan? He’s always listened to you.”
I shook my head. Even if I could help, I wasn’t getting sucked into this mess again.
‘Nobody can fix other people’s relationship drama. Since they both want Lily, let her pick.”
All four parents looked shocked, but what else could they do?
Samuel’s dad was furious. “If he wasn’t so banged up right now, I’d beat his ass! This is embarrassing!”
I pressed my lips together and stayed quiet.
Knowing Samuel’s obsessive personality, he’d probably see anyone standing between him and Lily as the
enemy.
Sure enough, he didn’t disappoint.
Soon my parents heard the news-Lily had chosen Samuel.
They were getting engaged.
Dylan locked himself up for three days without eating. Samuel was thrilled, but his parents looked

1 asked my parents what was wrong.
“Lily agreed to marry Samuel, but only if he gives her half the Ellington family’s liquid assets plus two mansions upfront.”
“And get this-she wants a wedding before they legally register the marriage. Says she needs to ‘test’ Samuel for a year before they make it official.”
“That’s…”
“Samuel’s parents said no at first, but he threatened to stop his medical treatment if they didn’t agree. He’s their only kid-they couldn’t watch him die, so they gave in.”
I raised an eyebrow, suddenly remembering that rich guy Lily married in my past life.
What if she was still planning to go after him? But then why mess with these two?
The only reason I could think of was money.
But before I could say anything, Dylan came storming back home.
His eyes were bloodshot as he glared at our parents, hatred practically radiating off him.
That mangled face with those cold eyes was genuinely creepy.
‘Lily would’ve picked me if you hadn’t been so cheap!”
“Why can Samuel’s parents support him while you just drag me down and make me lose the person I love
nost!”
Our parents frowned, trying to reason with him: “Dylan, this whole situation is toxic. Even if you married aer, you wouldn’t be happy.”
I’d seen Dylan’s stubborn streak in my past life.
He screamed at our parents: “I don’t care! You brought me into this family, so you should support me no matter what! How did I end up with parents like you? I hate you both!”
I frowned and marched over, slapping him hard across the face.
“Talk to Mom and Dad like that again and you can get the hell out.”
My parents looked completely defeated when I turned around.
