William stared at Jose’s name on his phone screen, finger hovering over the answer button. 

After a few seconds, he pressed it. 

“Hello.” 

His voice came out hoarse. 

“Cousin, heard you’ve been having a rough time?” 

Jose chuckled lightly on the other end. “Thought nothing could shake the great CEO.” 

William closed his eyes. 

“Get to the point.” 

“Nothing major. Just wanted to tell you Jessica’s doing great.” 

Jose deliberately drew out his words. “Cooked me a whole feast yesterday, her smile was so sweet.” 

Anna and Jesse heard every word clearly in the office. 

Anna’s face turned ghostly pale while Jesse’s eyebrows knotted tightly. 

“That’s all?” 

William’s voice turned icy. 

“Of course not.” 

Jose paused. “Just wondering is that baby in Anna’s belly really yours?” 

The office air froze solid. 

William’s eyes snapped open, locking onto Anna. 

Anna went sheet-white, trembling uncontrollably. 

“What do you mean?” 

“Means,” Jose sneered, “Anna didn’t just drug you that night.” 

“She had a backup plan too.” 

Anna’s legs went weak, nearly collapsing.

“No… it’s not…” 

“Anna.” 

William set down the phone, advancing toward her step by step. “Is he telling the truth?” 

“I… I didn’t…” Anna’s voice shook violently, but her eyes betrayed her. 

Jesse finally processed it, slamming his cane down. 

“Anna! 

Explain yourself!” 

“I really didn’t…” Anna kept denying, her voice fading weakly. 

William suddenly laughed, the sound utterly desolate. 

He turned to his desk, grabbing the intercom. 

“All legal staff to conference room. 

Now.” 

“William, what are you doing?” 

Jesse’s heart dropped. 

“Settle all accounts.” 

William’s gaze held unprecedented resolve. “Every last one.” 

Next day, Anderson group’s conference room filled with lawyers and executives. 

William stood before them, holding a stack of documents. 

“Two matters today.” 

His calm voice unnerved everyone. “First, Anna faces fraud and extortion charges.” 

Anna slumped in her chair, tears streaming. 

“William, you can’t… the baby…” 

“Baby?” 

William scoffed. “Mine?” 

He slammed DNA test results on the table. 

“Jose just had these delivered. Take a look.” 

The room erupted in uproar.

William continued. “The Moore family profited greatly from this.” 

“I want every penny back.” 

The Moore director paled. 

“Mr. Anderson, this… misunderstanding…” 

“Misunderstanding?” 

William’s gaze sharpened. “Think I’m a fool?” 

“From the start, you plotted against me.” 

“Against my marriage, my family, my company.” 

He threw down another stack of files.

“All your evidence is right here. 

How Anna got close to my brother, how she set up that partner swap scheme, how she drugged me-it’s all laid ou clear as day.” 

Jesse stared at the evidence, utterly stunned. 

“This… how is this possible…” 

“Dad, do you really think family interests matter that much?” 

William turned to his father, eyes filled with pain. “For those worthless interests, I lost Jessica. 

And now I find out even those interests were fake.” 

Anna suddenly stood up, voice raw and desperate: “So what if the child isn’t yours? You did sleep with me! 

Jessica’s gone. Can’t you just accept me?” 

William looked at her, disgust radiating from his eyes. 

“Accept you?” 

He spoke each word deliberately. “Anna, do you know what I regret most right now?” 

“What?” 

“Not uncovering your game sooner.” 

William’s voice held deep anguish. “Had I known earlier, Jessica wouldn’t have left.” 

He turned to everyone, his tone turning icy.

“Effective immediately, all cooperation between the Moore Family and Anderson Group ceases. 

Anna, I’m charging you with fraud, extortion, and intentional harm.” 

“Intentional harm?” 

Anna looked confused. 

“You wrecked my marriage, you hurt Jessica, and you hurt me.” 

William’s eyes burned with fury. “For all that, you will pay.” 

After the meeting, only William remained in the office. 

He sat in his chair, pulling up Jessica’s number. 

His finger hovered over the dial button for a long moment before finally lowering the phone. 

He knew nothing could bring Jessica back now. 

But at least, he could make those who hurt her pay. 

Just then, his secretary knocked. 

“Mr. Anderson, Mr. Roberts is here.” 

William looked up to see Jose walking in. 

“Cousin, heard you had quite the day?” 

Jose wore a faint smile. 

“What do you want?” 

“Got some good news for you.” 

Jose sat down. “Jess agreed to be with me.” 

The words hit like a bomb in William’s chest. 

His hands clenched into fists, nails digging into his palms. 

“When?” 

The question hissed through gritted teeth. 

“Yesterday.”
