Sometimes, a man being too considerate isn’t always a good thing…

Once she was accepted into the doctoral program, Damian would probably propose to her again.

After the plane landed, Damian called Lindsay.

Contact the owner of unit 1603 at Willow Creek Villas. I want to buy that property.”

The card Claudine took had long been frozen, so the Willow Creek Villas property could only be rented by her.

Once he bought the property, she naturally couldn’t continue staying there to disturb Audrey.

Without a place to stay, she’d have to come back, and Darla would have someone to look after her.

Yes, Mr. Barrette!”

Lindsay’s workhorse nature allowed her to reply even before she was fully awake.

She glanced at the time.

Two in the morning!

Heh.

As Damian’s assistant, she was already used to being on call twentyfour hours a day.

There was no other way!

He paid her too well!

After hanging up, Lindsay could only get out of bed and start working.

Willow Creek Villas, unit”

It was only then that she rememberedthat was where Mrs. Barrette was living now, wasn’t it?

Claudine was a little surprised to receive another message from Roberto.

After all, Roberto’s businesses were all overseas now, so he shouldn’t be returning to the country anytime soon.

Roberto invited her to dinner at a restaurant, saying that he had recently acquired a RubyEncrusted Regal Vase and wanted Claudine’s help to appraise its value as a collectible.

Claudine still hadn’t properly thanked Roberto for what happened at the last auction, so she took this opportunity to offer to treat him, hoping to show some hospitality.

She chose the famous Riverton Restaurant as their dining spot.

On the day of their appointment, Bronzevale was hit by a heavy snowfall.

Ever since her surgery, Claudine had been sensitive to the cold. She wore a Max Mara teddy beardyed alpaca robe, layered over a pleated highneck top by Issey Miyake and a jacquard vest from Dries Van Noten, with a woolen skirt lined with silk crepe on the bottom.

This outfit kept her warm while perfectly accentuating her figure.

Her hair was loosely tied at the back, a few strands falling casually to frame her face, making her swanlike neck look even more graceful.

As soon as Claudine arrived at the restaurant, she drew the attention of many people.

Some even took out their phones to snap photos, thinking she must be a celebrity.

Claudine had reserved a private room on the top floor, and a waiter led her to the elevator.

But unexpectedly, as soon as she entered the elevator, Claudine saw someone she knew.

Desmond Norton!

To call him an acquaintance was a stretch; they had barely spoken, only meeting once on her wedding day.

He was Damian’s brother, and they had all grown up together.

Desmond was clearly surprised to see Claudine.

Out of courtesy, Claudine nodded at him, but Desmond frowned, turning his face away with an expression of disdain and disgust.

Claudine was never close to him, and seeing his attitude, she certainly wasn’t going to make a fool of herself.

Damian’s friends had always looked down on her, thinking she wasn’t good enough for him.

Now that she and Damian were about to divorce, there was even less reason to associate with these people.

The elevator soon reached the top floor. When Desmond saw Claudine getting out on the same floor, the contempt and disgust in his eyes deepened.

Just as Claudine was about to step out, he blocked her way and spoke.

Claudine, you’re really annoying like this. Wouldn’t it be better to just stay at home? Why do you have to come here and embarrass yourself?”

Claudine was baffled. How was she embarrassing herself by coming here?

She looked at the waiter beside her.

Is the owner of Riverton Restaurant named Norton?”

The waiter quickly shook his head.

Claudine then turned to the scowling Desmond.

I thought this place belonged to your family!”

With that, Claudine shot Desmond a look of utter disdain and walked out of the elevator.

Desmond was left standing there in a daze.

Was Claudine mocking him just now?

She actually dared to look down on him!

Desmond snorted coldly, walked out of the elevator, and headed in the opposite direction from Claudine.

Even before he got close, he could already hear laughter coming from inside.

As soon as the private room door opened, he was greeted by a scene of extravagant revelry.

To celebrate Audrey’s return to the country and her birthday, Damian had really gone all out.

Not only had he found a priceless antique vase as a gift, but he had also booked the largest private room at Riverton Restaurant and gathered all their friends.
