With that, he yanked the car door open. 

She was stunned. He still hadn’t bought it? 

And why would she get out? Just because he asked her to? 

She leaned against the seat. 

“Mr. Burnham, what makes you say it’s a voice changer? Why don’t you wait for him to be here? It’s so hot out here. Surely, you don’t mind me waiting while sitting in your car, right? 

“Chill, Mr. Burnham. I’m so not interested in you now. After all, Fulbert is way better than you. We sync perfectly in bed. And don’t get me started on the mole on his chest. Gosh, it’s so wild. I can’t keep my pants on whenever I see it…” 

She couldn’t stop talking at all. 

She knew Florentino better than anyone. He wanted it both ways and was so possessive, and he’d rather die than let anyone else come near what he considered his. 

As it turned out, she was right. Before she could finish speaking, he was already seething with rage. 

He got out of the car, yanked her out, slammed the door shut, and drove off. 

Before leaving, he scoffed, “Of all people, you chose Fulbert to be part of your act. 

“Sandria, you really overestimate yourself. Be careful–play with fire, and you’ll get burned.” 

His great force indicated how furious he was. 

Caught off guard, she almost lost her balance, but she felt greater than ever. 

So what if Florentino didn’t believe her? It was totally worth it, seeing him burning with rage. 

As she watched his car vanish into the distance, someone suddenly held her waist, steadying her. 

She turned around and saw Fulbert. 

How did he get here so fast? She couldn’t help but feel surprised. 

He smiled before she could say anything, “You’re such a liar, claiming that you’re not interested in me. Explain–how do you know the mole on my chest, then? 

“And shouldn’t you be taking your pants off now?”

She opened her mouth, feeling quite awkward. 

She had only said that to piss Florentino off. What mole? How could she possibly know that? 

And Fulbert had actually heard that? 

She quickly explained, “Mr. Ortega, I was just babbling. Don’t take it seriously.” 

With that, she tried to break free from his embrace. 

But he clearly didn’t want to let go. Staring at her rosy lips, he leaned closer to her. “What if I do take it seriously?” 

If it were anyone else, she would have screamed for help. 

But given his striking face and body… 

She blushed, pushed his chest away, and frowned. “Cut it out.” 

Only then did he let go of her with a soft chuckle. Then he said, his tone returning flat, “I was in the middle of a din- ner party, and you dragged me away. 

“The least you could do is treat me to a meal. Don’t you think?” 

She didn’t think it was an excessive request. 

After all, she had used him a bunch of times already. It’d be a perfect chance to repay him. 

At this, she nodded readily. “Sure. Where would you like to go? I’ll pay for the meal.” 

Fulbert decisively drove her to a five–star hotel where a meal cost at least four figures. 

He glanced at her. “This OK with you?” 

She nodded while forcing a smile. “Yeah.” 

Luckily, she wasn’t short of money anymore. If it were in the past, she would have leapt out of the door already. 

The five–star hotel was decked out in full–blown opulence. 

Everything here was dazzling. 

Florentino had never taken her to places this fancy. 

“Mr. Ortega, you’ve got great taste,” she complimented. 

“Is this your way of complaining it’s too expensive here?” 

Rolling her eyes, she said, “I’m rich.” 

She wasn’t lying–after all, Judith’s check was right in her pocket. 

They chatted while going upstairs.
