Chapter83
On the other end, Kathie cursed angrily, “Ellsworth is too much,
absolutely shameless. Not only did he not handle the
paperwork, he’s still fooling around outside.”
Hearing Kathie’s anger, Harriet asked, “What happened now?
Why are you so upset?”
Harriet had long since become immune to Ellsworth’s affairs.
As long as Ellsworth was willing to handle the paperwork,
nothing else mattered.
Seeing how calm Harriet was, Kathie hesitated for a moment,
thinking that even if she kept it from her today, Harriet would
find out from somewhere else tomorrow. So she said, “My
brother is trending again, with Kelsey.”
After Kathie finished, Harriet just fluttered her eyelashes a few
times, showing little reaction.
Afterward, she opened Twitter’s trending topics on her phone and saw that the gossip about Ellsworth and Kelsey was indeed
among the top headlines.
Ellsworth’s Night with Kelsey.
Ellsworth and Kelsey Spend the Night Together.
Ellsworth’s New Flame: Kelsey from Rushtar Group.
After the last hotel incident, the rumors about Ellsworth and
Kelsey had been suppressed, but now, not long after, the
trending topics had resurfaced.
Unexpectedly, someone had still managed to get evidence.
She casually clicked on one trending topic, and the first thing
she saw were several candid photos.
Even though the shots were taken from far away and at night,
Harriet could tell at a glance that the two people embracing
were indeed Ellsworth and Kelsey.
Besides these intimate photos, the paparazzi had also captured
Ellsworth accompanying Kelsey into her villa.
It was indeed Kelsey’s villa-Harriet knew it too.
Harriet looked at the trending news with indifference, not
saying a word.
After exiting the trending topics, she continued talking to
Kathie. “It’s fine, I’m used to it. This is normal for me.”
After so many years, she’d seen it all.
Hearing Harriet’s calmness, Kathie said, “Hara, don’t love my
brother anymore. He’s not worth it.”
Harriet smiled. “Mm, I don’t love him anymore.”

Meanwhile, in a conference room at a business hotel, even
though it was nearly ten o’clock, seven or eight people were still
in a meeting.
Except for Ellsworth, the others were all in their forties or fifties.
Lounging with his legs crossed and flipping through meeting
materials, Ellsworth listened to the reports, still looking
energetic.
However, someone to his left was already dozing off.
“Adam, the budget doesn’t match the materials. Change to a
better quality brand.”
“Mr. Townsend, it’s not that we don’t want to change, but
everything’s getting more expensive. If we switch materials, the
budget…”
Before Adam could finish, his phone on the table rang again.
Adam looked at Ellsworth apologetically. “Mr. Townsend, may I take this call? It’s my wife-she’s called four or five times
already.”
Ellsworth waved his hand, and the man picked up his phone,
turned away, and answered quietly.
“I’m in a meeting, with Mr. Townsend, discussing the project in
Silver Creek District. I’ll be home later.”
“Everyone’s in a meeting. How could I not be here? I’ll be home
soon.”.
“I really am in a meeting. Want me to send you a video?”
When Adam mentioned sending a video, the others in the
conference room all laughed.
But just as the laughter died down, their own phones started
ringing.
One after another, they picked up their phones and asked
Ellsworth for permission to take the calls. Ellsworth waved his

hand, letting them all answer.
Each call was from a wife, checking up on them.
“I’m in a meeting with Mr. Townsend.”
“Really, I’m in a meeting. I’ll send you a photo right now.”
Watching everyone explain themselves, Ellsworth lowered his
eyes and glanced at his own phone on the conference table.
Then, he casually picked up his phone.
But when he turned on his phone, both his messages and
WhatsApp were empty. Harriet hadn’t sent him any messages,
nor had she called.
She hadn’t checked up on him.
She never would.
Back when they had just gotten married, Harriet would
occasionally call Ellsworth, asking if he would be home for dinner, but Ellsworth’s attitude was always cold and indifferent.
Harriet could tell he was annoyed by her.
After that, she stopped calling.
With a snap, the phone was tossed back onto the table. The others had also finished their calls, reporting their whereabouts
to their wives.
When everyone put down their phones and looked at Ellsworth, they all wore embarrassed expressions and said, “The women at home just don’t understand. Sorry to let Mr. Townsend see
this.”
“Exactly, what do they know? It’s not like this job is only during the day-we have to work at night too. Making money isn’t that
easy.”
“That’s right. Only Ms. Chavez from Mr. Townsend’s family is considerate. She hasn’t called even once all night.”
“Of course, that’s because they have a good relationship and a
high level of trust between husband and wife.”
