Chapter 15

Scott took Pamela’s hand, his eyes slightly reddened. “We won’t miss each other anymore.”

Pamela’s smile faltered as she withdrew her hand.

Scott paused, realizing she still wasn’t comfortable with his touch.

Pamela’s gaze flickered. “Sorry, I’m still adjusting to close contact.”

Scott’s expression softened with tenderness. “It’s alright. We have plenty of time.”

That afternoon, Scott worked online while Pamela watched soap operas on the sofa.

He glanced at her—this ordinary yet blissful scene was something he’d never dared dream of before.

Now it warmed his heart.

Just then, Scott’s college buddy Peter called.

Static crackled faintly through the phone.

“Scott! I’m at Blood Pack too!

Let’s grab dinner!”

Scott smiled, noticing Pamela curiously munching snacks while watching him.

“Sure. Perfect timing-there’s someone I want you to meet.”

Blood Pack remained unchanged, neon lights flickering along the streets at night.

Scott led Pamela to their pre-booked private dining room.

Shortly after Pamela excused herself to the restroom, Peter barged in.

“Who’s this mystery person?

Your girlfriend~?” Peter teased.

Scott chuckled. “She’ll be back soon. I’ll introduce you properly then.”

Peter waved dismissively. “Already saw her in the hallway. Pretty and innocent-looking.”

Scott blinked-what a coincidence.

Chapter 15

Peter suddenly produced a black wallet, flipping it open to reveal

their only faded campus photo tucked inside.

Tossing the wallet to Scott, Peter snorted. “Careless much? Left this in the hallway.”

“Never pegged an alpha to keep childhood sweetheart photos in his wallet.

Romantic bastard!”

Both men laughed.

Pamela reentered the room.

Scott pulled out her chair, gesturing toward Peter. “Though you’ve met, formal introductions:

This is my girlfriend, Pamela.”

Pamela gave a small wave.

Peter’s smile vanished. He ignored her, turning sharply to Scott.

“Scott, this is your girlfriend?

Seriously?

Pamela’s eyes dimmed, shoulders slumping.

Immediately, Scott clasped her hand firmly. “I mean it. Pamela’s my girlfriend.”

Peter burst into incredulous laughter. “What nonsense?

!”

Scott’s expression darkened at the disrespect.

“Speak plainly if you have issues. No need for attitude!”

He glanced at the served dishes, voice icy. “Dinner’s canceled. We’ll reschedule.”

Scott stopped listening to whatever Peter wanted to say and pulled Pamela away by the hand.

The dinner ended on a sour note.

Noticing Scott was still in a bad mood back in the car, Pamela spoke softly.

“It’s okay. We’ll have plenty of chances to meet them later.”

Scott couldn’t fathom what got into Peter today. Throughout college, he’d never seen him act so rudely.

Of all days, this had to happen when he was introducing Pamela to his friends.

Scott sighed and nodded. “Sorry you had to go through that today.”
