Chapter 8 

Scott’s gaze trembled slightly as he opened the diary, and the familiar, elegant handwriting of Pamela immediately caught his eye. 

He turned to the first page of the diary, which held Pamela’s confession to him. 

[June 7, 2014 Sunny 

Scott, this is my first diary entry for you. 

Next year, I’ll give you this diary and confess to you then. 

I’ll tell you, Scott, I like you.] 

Scott gently traced the handwriting in the diary, his heart skipping a beat. 

Immediately, a piercing pain gripped his chest, almost suffocating him. 

With red-rimmed eyes, Scott recalled the past, his fingertips trembling as he turned each page. 

With every diary entry he read, the stabbing pain in his heart grew deeper… 

[September 30, 2014 Rainy 

Scott, it rained heavily today, I didn’t have an umbrella, and you came to pick me up. 

You deliberately tilted the umbrella towards me, and I noticed. 

As a result, you got completely soaked, silly.] 

Each diary entry was naive and shy. 

They all spoke of Scott’s kindness to Pamela and expressed Pamela’s unspoken affection for Scott.

This diary was a mix of sweetness and bitterness, vividly revealing the girl’s feelings. 

Scott finally understood the feelings Pamela had shown him and realized her guilt and pain. 

His eyes turned bloodshot, just like Pamela’s when she wrote, tears silently dripping onto her handwriting. 

“Pamela, which of us is the real fool…” 

Until he turned to Pamela’s final diary entry on the last page.

Scott, I’m so scared, I don’t want to die… 

But there’s nothing I can do, fate seems to dislike me.

The second half of the diary was too bitter. 

So bitter that Scott could no longer hold back his emotions, hugging the diary and sobbing uncontrollably. 

Immense pain nearly overwhelmed him, years of hatred and reality hitting him like a heavy blow. 

After a long time, Scott seemed drained of all strength by grief. 

He swayed as he tried to connect the TV to play the video on the memory card, but the version was outdated and it wouldn’t play. 

With no choice, Scott took the memory card to a repair shop. 

With a haggard face and a hoarse voice, he said, “Boss, help me find a device that can read this memory card.” 

The repair shop owner was startled to see him enter in a daze. 

Seeing the memory card was an old version from ten years ago, the owner frowned deeply. 

“Oh, such an old memory card…” 

“Young man, why are you only thinking of watching it now?” 

Scott lowered his eyes and stayed silent. 

Because when he left without hesitation back then, ten years had passed between him and Pamela. 

Not long after, the shopkeeper retrieved a compatible player from the storage room. 

Scott bought the device and returned home. 

He inserted the memory card, and images slowly flickered to life on the television screen.

The person being resuscitated was Pamela! 

Her agonized, labored breathing echoed from the video, each gasp like a knife through Scott’s heart.
