Her voice was shrill and sharp, carrying across the courtyard.
Hering what the lady just said, Tyler’s eyes darkened instantly, but before he could react, the guards moved.
Without waiting for an explanation, they marched aggressively toward them.
The ground trembled slightly under their heavy boots.
Tyler instinctively stepped in front of his mother, shielding her, but the guards were already reaching out.
Rough hands grabbed his mother’s thin arms, yanking her away from him.
“Hey!” Tyler barked, fury exploding in his voice. “What do you think you’re doing?! Let go of my mother now!”
But they didn’t listen.
Two of the guards shoved Tyler aside roughly while the others manhandled his mother as if she were some worthless criminal.
His mother whimpered in pain, struggling weakly in their iron grips, her frail body was no match for their strength.
Tyler’s blood boiled to the point of snapping.
The guards sneered at them as they dragged his mother across the floor, their faces wrinkled in disgust. Some of them even waved their hands in front of their noses, acting as if Tyler and his mother were emitting a foul stench.
“They stink like animals,” one of them muttered loudly enough for everyone to hear.
“Beggar filth,” another spat with contempt, his eyes sweeping over Tyler and his mother like they were insects.
At that moment Tyler’s hands shook at his sides, he wanted to tear them apart. Right there. Right now.
At that moment One of the men stepped forward, speaking with a voice full of disdain. “This is the palace. We have clear rules here. No begging allowed.”
He jabbed a finger toward Tyler’s mother, as if she was something rotten.
“We caught your so–called mother red–handed. She’s a beggar. She broke the sacred laws of the palace.”
The guard’s mouth twisted into a cruel sneer.
“And for that,” he said, his voice dripping with mockery. “your worthless mother will be

punished so severely.”
The sneering guard had barely finished his sentence when Tyler took a step forward, his body tense like a drawn bow.
His voice cut through the air, firm and unshakable.
“You are not taking my mother away from here,” Tyler said, his tone cold as steel.
Upon hearing what Tyler just said, the Royal Guards blinked in surprise, exchanging confused glances, had they heard right?
A beggar? A nobody?
Daring to challenge the authority of the Royal Guards inside the palace?
The air grew heavy.
One of the guards, a man with a scar running down his jaw–clearly their leader–stepped forward. He looked down at Tyler with a mixture of arrogance and amusement, like he was watching a madman dance before his death.
“Do you even know who you’re talking to?” the leader sneered, his voice laced with contempt.
He chuckled mockingly, waving a hand as if dismissing Tyler’s very existence.
“You think you can disrespect the Royal Guards?” he barked, loud enough for the nearby crowd to start gathering, their curious eyes now locked on the unfolding scene.
The leader stepped closer, his armor clinking with every step, until he stood just inches from Tyler, towering over him with the confidence of a man used to crushing others underfoot.
“You?” he spat. “You’re just a filthy beggar. A boy covered in dirt, stinking like a street dog.”
He turned slightly, addressing the other guards with a cruel grin.
“Look at them–smelly maggots, crawling into the king’s courtyard like they belong here.”
At that moment Laughter erupted among the guards, cruel and sharp.
Some of them even pointed at Tyler’s torn clothes, mocking him loudly enough for others to
hear.
Tyler’s fists clenched even more tightly by his sides.
The mocking words, the disrespect, the way they spoke about his mother–it all built into a roaring storm inside him.
But Tyler didn’t back down, he didn’t even flinch.
Instead, he raised his head, his gaze sharp and unwavering.
“I said what I said “Tyler said calmly his voice steady and dangerous

“And,” Tyler added, his tone dropping lower, colder, “I don’t like repeating myself.”
He took another step forward, standing protectively in front of his mother, his suddenly filling the space with a force that made even the guards stiffen.
“No one,” Tyler said slowly, clearly, “is going to touch my mother.”
“And no one is going to carry her away from here.”

Again the guards burst into laughter, their cruel voices echoing through the courtyard.
“Are you for real, boy?” one of them jeered, shaking his head in mock disbelief.
Another stepped closer, sneering. “Beggar, are you serious? You want to challenge the Royal Guards?”
Their taunts grew louder, more vicious, feeding off each other’s arrogance.
But Tyler stood there, unmoving, his face calm, his fists trembling slightly at his sides–not from fear, but from holding back the fury raging inside him.
He was ready, Just one move.
He could put them all to sleep in seconds.
He could take his mother and walk away before anyone even realized what happened.
The
anger
inside him burned hotter with every insult, every laugh, every sneer thrown at him and his mother. His energy was surging, ready to be unleashed.
He was almost ready to make his move when a hand suddenly grabbed his wrist.
“Tyler,” his mother’s trembling voice whispered desperately.
Then Tyler turned sharply to look at her.
Tears were still in her eyes, but there was a fierce determination behind them–a desperate, pleading look that cut deeper than any sword.
“Please,” she whispered, shaking her head frantically. “Don’t do this.”
Immediately Tyler’s body froze, his heart pounding painfully.
“Mom-”
“Listen to me,” she interrupted, clutching his arm tightly. “You don’t understand. You won’t survive this. Not here. Not against them.”
Her voice broke slightly but ch

“If the king finds out… if he hears about this… it’ll be over for you, and me,” she said, her voice almost shaking. “Everything you’ve suffered–the Miraculous Doctor kicking you out, the five years of hardship–you barely survived all of that.”
Her nails dug slightly into his skin, as if trying to hold him back by sheer will.
“And now, if you add this—” her voice cracked, and she bit her lip hard to stop herself from crying again, “-if you add this fight on top of everything, it will destroy you completely.”
She shook her head desperately.
“I know you’re angry. I know you want to protect me.” She paused, looking straight into his eyes. “But Tyler, please… you’re alive. That’s enough for me.”
Her words were soft but unbreakable, fueled by the pure, selfless love of a mother.
“You’re alive, and that’s all that matters to me now.”
At that moment Tyler’s chest tightened painfully. He could feel her trembling under his hand, but she still stood strong, still trying to shield him.
“I’ll face whatever consequences come,” she whispered. “I’ll take whatever punishment they want to give. It doesn’t matter anymore.”
She smiled weakly through her tears, the saddest, bravest smile Tyler had ever seen.
“I’ll die if I have to. I’ll suffer whatever they give me.”
Her hand gently cupped his cheek, her thumb brushing against his skin as if memorizing him one last time.
“I’ll die a happy woman, a happy mother… because I know my son is alive.”
She said it softly, full of peace, but every word stabbed into Tyler’s heart like a blade.
She wanted him to leave, she wanted him to live.
Because she knew the kind of king that ruled this place.
And after five long, cruel years, after finally seeing her son again—she would rather sacrifice herself than lose him again.
