Chapter 21 

Staring at Patsy intently, she continued, “Patsy, I can’t do this 

anymore. I’m done playing the laughable clown.”” 

She had endured three years of emotional neglect. 

Whenever he had an affair, she had to pose as his mistress to 

clean up his mess. 

And those dazzling rings on his and Kelsey’s fingers… 

Enough. 

She could no longer take this. 

Patsy parted her lips several times, wanting to say something to 

comfort Harriet. But in the end, she said nothing. Every word 

that came to her mind felt hollow and useless. 

Ellsworth was in the living room. With his hands in his pockets, 

he looked at them, not saying a word. 

He was expressionless, and no one could tell what he was 

thinking. 

Chapter 21 

In fact, he had come back when Harriet told Patsy about the 

divorce. 

Patsy’s gaze lingered on Harriet’s face. Sensing her silence, 

Harriet was about to continue eating when she spotted 

Ellsworth. 

She was momentarily stunned before regaining her composure. 

Putting the fork onto the plate, she stood up and greeted him, 

“You’re back. You haven’t had dinner, have you? Let me get you 

some cutlery” 

After saying this, she turned and walked into the kitchen. 

Patsy turned around, glared at Ellsworth coldly, and said 

sarcastically, “Oh, so you do remember to come back? I thought 

you’d already forgotten about us.” 

He didn’t argue. His eyes flicked toward the kitchen for just a 

second before he walked over to the dining table and sat down. 

Soon, Harriet came back. 

She then put some food on Ellsworth’s plate. 

After this, she sat down and continued to eat in silence. 

Patsy asked Ellsworth, “Where were you earlier? You ought to 

stop fooling around and spend more time at home.” 

As Patsy grilled Ellsworth, Harriet continued eating in silence. 

Ellsworth would occasionally give a casual nod, his gaze 

drifting toward Harriet every so often. But she kept her head 

down, not sparing a glance at him or joining their conversation. 

After a few minutes, Harriet’s phone in her pocket rang. 

It was a call from Jolene. 

Harriet put down the fork to answer it. Jolene said, “Ms. 

Chavez, I’ve emailed you the info about Ranton Group. Let me 

know if you need anything else.” 

“Alright. Let me take a look first,” Harriet said gently. 

After hanging up, she didn’t continue to eat. Looking at Patsy, 

she said, “Patsy, I’ve got to handle some work. I’m heading 

upstairs now!’ 

Patsy protested, “But you haven’t finished your meal.” 

She smiled, “I’m full.” 

Hearing this, Patsy could only relent. “Alright. Go ahead then. If 

you want to eat something later, tell me.” 

“I will.” She stood up to leave. 

Patsy watched her as she went, and Ellsworth was as 

indifferent as ever-he didn’t even spare a glance at her. 

After her figure disappeared from the stairs, Patsy looked at 

Ellsworth, snapping, “You heard what Hara said. I’ve told you 

countless times already, warning you not to go too far. But you 

just wouldn’t listen. See? She no longer wants to be with you. 

“What’s so good about the Graham family’s daughters? One was 

gone, and now, you’re involved with the other one. Why 

couldn’t you just stay away from them?” 

She continued before Ellsworth could say a word, “Hara’s 

sacrificed everything for our family and the company. Don’t 

even get me started on how tolerant she is of you. You’re not 

stupid, and I’m sure you know everything she’s done for us, 

right? Ells, did I raise you to be like this? One’s gotta have some 

conscience” 

He said coldly, “She has her own motives for doing these.” 

Patsy was further enraged. She glared at him and questioned, 

raising her voice, “What’s that supposed to mean? Are you 

implying that she wants something from us? 

“Ells, you’ve known her for most of your life. Don’t you know 

what kind of person she is? How could you say this?”
