Chapter 28
Alexander
She storms out of the office. I take the chance to admire her perky, curvy ass that makes me want to lose control.
That woman is a huge pain. She thinks she can threaten me in my own house when she’s nothing, no one.
Why did I steal her weapons? For the pleasure of seeing her boil in front of me, act tough and stand up to me.
As long as I haven’t decided, she can have them back, but she won’t.
The office door opens again. I thought she came back, but it’s just Aymen.
Aymen is my right-hand man, my most loyal friend, and above all, my brother. We’ve known each other since childhood. Our pasts are intertwined. He’s my twin in spirit and my most loyal, even though we don’t share the same blood. He’s my family.
He observes me with a sly smile. I raise an eyebrow.
“What’s going on?”
“I saw the famous Inara storm out of this room. She shoved me hard without even bothering to apologize.”
“It’s not like her insect strength was going to knock you over.”
“Maybe not, but she could’ve apologized.”
“You should’ve taught her a lesson.”
“I remind you, I don’t hit women-and neither do you.”
My values and principles are really a pain in the ass.
“She had a bandage behind her ankle. Tell me it wasn’t you who did that.”
I hadn’t noticed she had a bandage. I’m sure that’s not the only one. I wonder what else she’s hiding.
“I didn’t touch her. How did you even see that? She’s wearing heels at least ten centimeters high.”
“When she shoved me, I turned around to insult her. She was holding her heels in her hands. When I looked down, I saw the bandage.”
My smirk turns into a mocking laugh.
“You’re hard on that woman.”
“She infiltrated the prison I was in to spy on me, remember?”
“You said she didn’t find anything, didn’t you?”
“She knows nothing, but I’d rather keep an eye on her just in case she tries to continue her mission.”
“Her father’s the one who sent her.”
I sit back in my desk chair, eyes distant.
“I’m going to make him regret ever bringing her into this world for trying to screw me over.”

“When you made your entrance, he couldn’t stop staring at you. I’m not even talking about his face when you were talking to his daughter.”
“I’m sure he plans to keep spying on me.”
“What makes you think that?”
“A gut feeling.”
“Is he a threat?”
“He doesn’t have the profile to be the mastermind behind anything big, that idiot. I’m surprised he’s even running an organization.”
“We both know Khalid and his vice.”
“The only reason I haven’t killed him yet is because I want to find out what he’s up to.”
“All that’s just a detail. What matters is that you found what you were looking for in prison.”
“That’s just one piece of the puzzle.”
Aymen nods.
“I need to uncover his real intentions.”
I think of a simple and quick way to use Khalid to my advantage.
“You should seduce his daughter. She must know a lot about him since he sent her and not one of his men,” Aymen suggests.
I stiffen.
“Seducing that lunatic? Come up with something else.”
“Think it over, Alexander. She wouldn’t have taken that risk going into that prison if she weren’t close to him.”
“I don’t get the sense that there’s much love between them.”
“Exactly. Use that. That girl is the key to discovering what her father’s hiding. Then we’ll use what you found in prison to carry out your plan.”
It’s not a dumb idea. I’d already thought about it, but that woman’s such a pain in the ass I dropped it.
“That woman is a migraine. She’s going to drive me insane. I don’t want any kind of relationship with her.”
“You don’t need to fall in love with her. Just use her body while making her pay for her arrogance when you throw her away
like trash.”
Using her doll-like body? Why not.
Make her fall head-over-heels in love with me, then tell her I only used her to get to her father? I like the sound of that.
“It’ll take time, but I’ll make it happen no matter what.”
“You should give her the weapons back.”
“If she wants them, she’ll come get them.”
“She’ll end up hating you, and that’s not what you want.”

Chapter 28
“If she hates me, she’ll start thinking about me constantly and seeing me as an enemy. The more she thinks about me, the more she’ll fall in love-like the little girl she is.”
“She doesn’t have the body of a little girl. And just so you remember, even if you’re respected, you’re only twenty-two. You’re not as old as you claim.”
“I know what I’m saying.”
I grin, already plotting my step-by-step plan to make it flawless and unstoppable.
“You should go join your guests now. They’ve barely seen you.”
“You know damn well I only organized this party so they’d understand I’m back, and that everyone who tried to rob me paid with their lives.”
“I know, but you should still go.”
“You go. I’ll join you when I’m done.”
Aymen nods and leaves. I take the opportunity to stand from my chair and lock the office door.
I head to the bookshelf and pull out a book, retrieving a thin black pouch hidden on page 36. I grip it in my hand to make sure the contents are still there.
I’ll uncover Khalid’s true intentions, then I’ll kill him. I’ll get what I’ve been looking for all this time.
I almost forgot the most important part. I’ll make Inara fall in love with me so deeply she’d die for me or defend me with her life, even if it means betraying her father.
She’ll help me expose her gang’s secrets, even if she doesn’t know it yet.
Once I’ve shattered her into pieces-her and that cold, icy facade-I’ll toss her aside like garbage and make sure she knows she never meant anything to me.
And I’ll even get a bonus: enjoying her gorgeous body, even if other men have touched it before me.
What matters is, I’ll make her moan with pleasure while screaming my name, until she’s addicted to me.
I’ll penetrate her body-and more importantly, her soul.
I pick up my glass and bring it to my lips.
“I raise my glass: to you, Inara! You’re going to help me bring all my plans to life.”
