Chapter 19Â
I should’ve figured those two bastards had something on Mathieu to be able to bully him like that. No one would accept being treated that way unless it was out of fear.Â
“They threaten to tell the other inmates if I don’t behave the way they want. You know how gay people are treated in prison. Imagine being a gay guard.”Â
I clench my fists in frustration and anger.Â
“Remember when Anis forced me to go to the showers? He said you couldn’t go because there’d been an ‘incident.””Â
He blushes again and coughs awkwardly, looking at me with shame.Â
“That stays between us. You have my word,” I say in the softest voice I can manage.Â
He looks at me hesitantly. I give him a reassuring smile.Â
“Anis wanted me to do extra hours to cover for him. I refused because I had to take care of my mother, and he got back atÂ
me.”Â
“How?”Â
“Franck and Anis forced me to go to the showers with them while the inmates were washing. They purposely pushed me into a prisoner. I brushed against his crotch, and he started cursing me out. I was lucky he didn’t kill me, but it was a warning from Anis and Franck.”Â
Sons of bitches.Â
“You should report them to the warden.”Â
“He knows but pretends like nothing’s wrong. I was transferred here because my secret got out at the last prison, and the inmates there ambushed me.”Â
I clench my fists, imagining what those bastards must’ve done to him. I feel close to him. Knowing he’s been hurt makes me want to break everything.Â
“Did they attack you?”Â
He averts his gaze and lowers his head.Â
“No, but it was close. That’s why they transferred me. If something like that happens again, I could lose my job for good.”Â
“Yeah, but you can’t keep hiding who you are. It’s dangerous here.”Â
Ironic, coming from me.Â
“I need this job to pay for my mother’s treatment. She has cancer.”Â
I’m heartbroken to hear that someone as kind as he is going through something so painful. I truly hope his mother getsÂ
better.Â
“Are you going to hide for the rest of your life?”Â
“For as long as I have to.”Â
There’s a hint of sadness in his voice. I need to lighten the mood.Â

Chapter 19Â
“So, Alexander, huh? You like him?” I say with a teasing smile.Â
He turns even redder and tries to speak but stutters. I laugh at his flustered reaction.Â
“Don’t you dare tell him. He’d probably kill me in my sleep if he found out I think he’s hot.”Â
It would be hilarious to see Alexander’s reaction. Mister’s confidence would get flustered.Â
“He should be flattered.”Â
“He would be-if it were you who thought that about him.”Â
“I don’t know what you’re imagining. There’s only hate between us.”Â
“If you offered to sleep with Alexander, do you think he’d say no?”Â
I had never even considered that possibility.Â
“I’d be lying if I said I’ve never imagined doing… less-than-innocent things with him.”Â
He bursts out laughing.Â
“You’re such a naughty little thing! You should act on those fantasies before he drives you crazy.”Â
“He’ll never know what I think, but I wouldn’t say no to a little fun in the janitor’s closet.”Â
His eyes widened in surprise as I let out a small laugh. I’ve never been one to hide my fantasies.Â
“He’s sexy, and he looks like he knows what he’s doing. Too bad he has that kind of personality. If he kept his mouth shut, it might be nice, but then again, I’d kind of like to hear him scream my name!”Â
A wave of heat rushes between my thighs just picturing the scene.Â
It’s been a long time since I’ve had a conversation like this.Â
Mathieu just shared his biggest secret with me. I trust him enough to keep going with this kind of talk.Â
“If Alexander knew we’re both fantasizing about him, I think he’d be pissed.”Â
“Since he got here, I can’t take my eyes off his torso when he’s showering or working out in his cell. Have you ever seen him?”Â
How could I forget our first meeting?Â
“Just once, and only briefly.”Â
“The muscles, mixed with the sweat from intense effort…”Â
“You’re such a little perv.”Â
“No, I just observe. It’s not every day you see a man like him-I’m taking it all in!”Â
We keep chatting like we’re at a café.Â
Light moments like this don’t come around often in my life.Â
So when they do, I make the most of every second.Â

Chapter 19Â
I walk down the hallway leading to the warden’s office, making sure no one sees me. I check the door-it’s locked, but it’s not a reinforced one. I take one of my hairpins and pick the lock; after a few movements, it clicks open.Â
I slip inside and quietly close the door behind me. I walk over to the desk and sit in the chair. I rummage through the drawers, looking for Alexander’s file. It seems nowhere to be found among the other inmates’ records.Â
I open another drawer. I find a red folder hidden under a pile of paperwork, labeled in bold: “CONFIDENTIAL.” I open it and find numerous photos of Alexander, as well as receipts for his purchases, phone records, airline tickets from his travels, copies of his emails, and bank statements from his transactions. It looks like he was under surveillance before being locked up here.Â
But there’s no proof of his guilt or any mention of the reason for his imprisonment. This isn’t the information that’s going to help me survive.Â
You’re even more dangerous than I thought, Alexander Graves.Â
I come across an information sheet containing all his personal details. I take out my phone and photograph every page ofÂ
the file.Â
I glance at the floor to make sure I haven’t left any trace when I spot a photo face-down on the ground. It must have fallen while I was digging through the folder. I pick it up and see Alexander. The photo must be a few months old-it’s the only one showing his full face from the front.Â
He truly is undeniably handsome. I stare at the photo for a few seconds, then fold it and hide it in my bra.Â
Just as I’m closing the drawer, I hear voices approaching the warden’s office. I quickly dive under the desk to hide.Â
“I don’t want you touching that woman. It would be bad for us if something happened to a guard in our prison.”Â
I recognize the warden’s voice.Â
“Maybe, but that idiot gets involved in things that don’t concern her, and she’s a real pain in the ass.”Â
That’s Anis.Â
“I don’t want her dead-it could raise suspicion with the commission.”Â
“Fine, we’ll just rape her. That’ll get her to leave the prison, and we’ll pin it on the inmates like we usually do.”Â
“Perfect, just be discreet. I don’t want any evidence linking back to you. And let me also have a taste of her myself.”Â
slams shut.Â
I hear them laugh, and then the warden approaches his desk. I hold my breath as I hear him pick up a file. Then the doorÂ
