Chapter 33Â
Charlotte’s POV:Â
The name sounded only vaguely familiar to me, as if I’d heard it somewhere before, but I still firmly answered, “No.”Â
His arm around my waist tightened, and I watched his deep eyes turn cold. Alexander’s breathing became heavier. Clearly frustrated with my stubborn response, he suddenly released me, tossed me back onto the bed, and walked out of the room.Â
September arrived, the first day of school. I headed to the administration office with my transfer documents, filled with anticipation. Lily and Jason came along as moral support.Â
But when we reached the administration office, the staff delivered shocking news.Â
“Neither of you can transfer–not to a different major, nor to a different class.”Â
Apparently, orders had come from above, specifically mentioning us by name.Â
Lily furrowed her brow, confused. “There must be some mistake. Charlotte was approved to transfer to the Business School over the summer. I have the confirmation letter on my phone with signatures from both deans. How could it just disappear?”Â
The administrative staff didn’t even bother to verify Lily’s claim. “Your families don’t agree with your transfers. You should discuss it with them first, then come back.”Â
I frowned. “My parents haven’t interfered with my decisions since I turned eighteen. At least come up with a believableÂ
excuse.”Â
“She’s right,” Jason chimed in. “But even if Charlotte can’t transfer majors, why can’t I change classes?”Â
The administrator smiled politely. “Mr. Kingsley, you should ask your uncle about that. He’s a major shareholder of this university, and we can’t go against his instructions.”Â
Alexander almost never interfered with his nephew’s school life. Jason already received special treatment merely because his father was in politics, though most people didn’t know his exact position. If people knew he was Alexander Kingsley’s nephew, he would attract even more opportunistic “friends.”Â
That’s why Alexander and James never allowed Jason to benefit from their positions. This was the first time Alexander hadÂ
interfered with his nephew’s education.Â
Jason began to look uneasy. He glanced at me, about to ask if I thought his uncle was behind this, when he noticed my delicate features had twisted into a scowl. I had already guessed the culprit.Â
“Was my transfer application intercepted by Alexander Kingsley?” I asked the administrator directly.Â
The lady nodded. They were also confused–they understood restricting Jason’s class change since he was Alexander’s nephew, but why would he care about me, an ordinary student?Â
Not knowing my identity, they showed me no special respect.Â
I slammed the documents on the table and stormed out of the office, fuming.Â

Chapter 33Â
“Hey, Charlotte, where are you going?” Lily called after me.Â
I had come to school full of hope, excited about the new semester and seeing old friends. Now I discovered it was all an illusion–my dreams crushed by Alexander.Â
I headed straight for Kingsley Tech headquarters, ready to confront him face to face. If words failed, I wouldn’t mind settling this with a fierce battle.Â
As I turned to leave, I overheard the office staff beginning to whisper behind me.Â
“I bet the Kingsley boy is dating the campus beauty, and they wanted to transfer to the same class. The CEO found out and thought she wasn’t good enough for his nephew, so he’s keeping them apart.”Â
Another staff member joined in. “Are you talking about Charlotte Cole from the Architecture Department?”Â
“Yes, do you know her?”Â
“I’ve heard of her. They say her family also runs a sizeable company. She’s a rich girl too, so her status shouldn’t be that low.”Â
“No matter how big her family’s company is, can it compare to the Kingsley empire? Think about it–Jason is the only heir to the Kingsley family. Even if he married a princess, people would say the princess married up. An ordinary rich girl means nothing to the Kingsley family.”Â
“That makes sense. No wonder Mr. Kingsley interfered not only with Jason’s affairs but also with Charlotte’s academicÂ
arrangements.”Â
I took a taxi to Kingsley Tech headquarters, a glass tower gleaming in the sunlight. As soon as I entered the lobby, I headed straight for the reception desk.Â
“Which floor is Alexander Kingsley’s office on?‘ I asked urgently.Â
“Ma’am, do you have an appointment?” the receptionist inquired politely.Â
“No,” I answered bluntly.Â
“I’m sorry, you can’t see the president without an appointment.”Â
I took out my phone. “Then I’ll make one right now,”Â
I dialed Alexander’s number. After three rings, his voice came through: “What is it?”Â
I gritted my teeth: “Honey, I need an appointment to see you, so let’s schedule one now–I’m waiting in the lobby.”Â
The girls at the reception desk were stunned! Hearing a young girl like me call their president “honey” left them gaping.Â
“I’m busy. We’ll talk when I get home tonight.”Â
“Home? Honey, when was the last time you came home? Will I even see you when you get there?” I retorted sharply.Â
Alexander stood in his office, his Adam’s apple bobbing. The finance manager was standing before him, trembling as he waited for the president’s approval. Alexander’s gaze darkened–he was being publicly scolded by his young wife.Â

Chapter 33Â
“I promise I’ll be home tonight.”Â
“No, I need to see you now.” I shouted authoritatively into the phone in the lobby, then abruptly hung up.Â
I turned to the reception desk, confidence surging: “There, I have an appointment with Alexander Kingsley now. Open the door and take me up to see him.”Â
The receptionists were still in shock: “You… you’re the president’s wife?”Â
They thought, you look too young, don’t you? And, the president is married?Â
I nodded: “I left in a hurry and forgot my marriage certificate. Do you want me to call our house manager and have him bring the certificate to prove my identity?”Â
They quickly shook their heads: “Ma’am, please wait a moment while we verify this.”Â
Although my behavior seemed credible, to be cautious, they summoned the courage to contact the president’s office to confirm my claim.Â
The administrative secretary who answered had no idea the president was married. “Must be a scammer. Have securityÂ
escort her out.”Â
SAMMÂ
The receptionist looked at me hesitantly: “Ma’am, please leave. If you continue to disrupt our work, we’ll have to callÂ
security.”Â
I narrowed my eyes: “Alexander refuses to see me?”Â
She nodded.Â

Looking at the crowds of people coming and going through the lobby, I knew I couldn’t force my way in, but I wasn’t planning to leave either. “Fine, then I’ll sit there and wait for him.” I pointed to a nearby sofa, then sat down with my backpack.Â
The receptionists exchanged glances, completely bewildered.Â
