Chapter 1 

“Mom, my study abroad application has been approved, and I plan to go overseas.” 

In the quiet living room, Ivy Wolfe’s voice was soft and shallow, like a drop of water falling into a pool. 

Ivy’s mother, sitting across the sofa, was overjoyed, “Has it passed so quickly? When are you leaving?” 

“Ten days later.” 

Ivy’s mother didn’t expect it to be so rushed. Amid the excitement, a sense of reluctance welled up in her eyes. “Then I will go and help you pack your luggage now. It’s your first time going far away, and it’s overseas. I really can’t let go of my worries. So I contacted a friend from a few years ago. It just so happens that her son is also in Soltharion. If you have any problems, you can contact him. Don’t worry about bothering him, because you and that boy were childhood sweethearts. See if you can get along with each other. Ivy nodded and said, “Okay, Mom.”

A sudden voice broke the oppressive atmosphere in the living room. 

Three people turned their heads at the sound and saw Rod Archer entering through the door. 

He was dressed in a black shirt and black trousers, with a figure as graceful as jade and as straight 

as a pine tree. Every move he made exuded a lazy and noble demeanor. 

Ivy’s body trembled slightly as she stood up and called out to him, “Brother.” 

Rod made a meaningful “hmm” sound, dropped the car keys, and went upstairs. 

In the evening, Ivy’s mother prepared a large table of dishes and opened a bottle of red wine. 

She raised her glass and smiled at her three family members, preparing to announce the good

news. “Come on, let’s celebrate as a family today, celebrating that Ivy is about to…” 

Ivy realized something was wrong and quickly interrupted her, “Morn, this wine tastes a bit bitter, is it expired?” 

Is it expired? 

Ivy’s mother looked surprised, as it hadn’t expired yet, but Ivy had already used getting new wine as an excuse and dragged her to the kitchen. 

“Mom, don’t tell my brother about my plan to go abroad for now.” 

Upon hearing this, Ivy’s mother found it a bit strange. 

But when she thought about the various care her stepson had shown towards her daughter, she slowly began to understand the difficult and inseparable bond between siblings and nodded in 

agreement. 

After hastily taking a few bites, Ivy got up and went back to her room. 

After washing up, she lay in bed and slowly fell asleep. 

Until midnight, there was a person beside her on time. 

A scorching breath fell on her neck, and the next second, soft lips gently pressed against it, lightly nibbling. The slightly cool dampness completely awakened Ivy, who was still drowsy. 

Her body stiffened, and she instinctively jerked away from him, her voice urgent and resistant, “Rod!” 

“What? Your family wants to introduce a boyfriend to you, so you won’t let me touch you anymore?” In the dark night, Rod curled his lips, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes. His voice was extremely lazy, “After all these years together with me, you don’t want to take responsibility?” 

Ivy knew that he had misunderstood, but she didn’t explain. 

Rod’s face grew cold in this endless silence. 

He reached out and pulled her into his arms, “Ivy, have I ever told you that you are not allowed to have a boyfriend, you can only be mine.” 

Feeling the scorching heat coming from behind, Ivy didn’t want to argue with him, so she lied, “I 

was on my period, not feeling well.” 

Upon hearing her submissive explanation, Rod’s expression improved slightly, but he couldn’t help but furrow his brow. “So you just finished your period and it’s already back? Fine, I won’t touch you

After saying that, he tightly embraced her in his arms. 

Listening to the soothing and peaceful sound of breathing in her ears, she tossed and turned, unable to sleep. 

No one knew that her boyfriend was her brother, Rod! 

At the age of twelve, her mother remarried into the Archer family, and she became the half–sister 

of the Archer family’s only son, Rod. 

At the age of fourteen, she called him brother, and he called her sister, appearing as a respectful 

brother–sister duo in the eyes of others. 

At the age of eighteen, she secretly wrote a diary filled with his name, and it was discovered. He lazily leaned against her desk, smiling as he repeatedly read through the diary. Then, he grabbed her hand as she tried to take back the diary, and planted a kiss on her shy cheek. 

At the age of twenty, they tasted the forbidden fruit for the first time, and afterwards, they became 

addicted and couldn’t stop. 

During the day, they were siblings, but at night, they secretly engaged in a deadly entanglement, 

hiding it from everyone. 

Ivy has always been a well–behaved girl since she was young, and being with Rod was the only foolish thing she had ever done in her life. 

She liked Rod so much that she even felt it didn’t matter if they never made their relationship public for a lifetime. They could secretly go overseas and get married then. 

But all these fantasies came crashing down half a month ago, abruptly ending his conversations 

with his friends. 

It was raining heavily that day. She ran to give Rod an umbrella, but just as she was about to open the compartment door, she heard his friend’s voice. 

“Rod, what are you going to do about your stepmother’s daughter? Weren’t you planning to just play around and then break up? Why haven’t you ended it yet?” 

“Yeah, you were with her back then, just to get back at her mom for marrying into the Archer family, right? Don’t tell me you had a change of heart,” 

Revenge?

He was with her, not because he liked her, but for revenge! 

Ivy’s face turned pale, her mind buzzed, and her whole body began to tremble uncontrollably, but she stubbornly didn’t leave, wanting to hear Rod’s response. 

In the next second, Rod’s indifferent and cruel voice reached her ears word by word. 

“How can I make her suffer more if I don’t play for a while?” 

At that moment, the whole audience burst into laughter, while she stood outside the door, feeling as if she had fallen into an ice cellar. 

Originally, he didn’t like her. Being with her, calling her his girlfriend, and spending passionate nights with her, was just revenge for her mother taking his mother’s place?! 

Ivy’s mother had to continue living with Rod’s father, she couldn’t make a big fuss about this 

matter. 

After much thought, the only solution she could come up with was to escape, to leave this home and 

also leave him. 

So she applied for studying abroad. 

Now, there are only ten days left since she quietly left. 

Watching the countdown reminder on her phone, Ivy raised her hand and pulled down Rod’s hand, which was wrapped around her waist. 

A few minutes later, he hugged her again. When she tried to pull away, he unconsciously hugged her again. 

Her patience was exhausted in the repeated tug–of–war, so she simply brought a pillow and placed 

it between the two of them. 

This time, he finally calmed down. 

Ivy was also quiet. 

She knew that there would soon be a period between them. 

She no longer belonged to him, nor was she his possession anymore.
