Chapter 29

Martin tightened his grip on the edge of the cup, took a sip of water, and concealed his exposed emotions.

He was afraid that his face would reveal a fierce.expression.

Evelyn…

He did not let go.

The three of them ate lunch in a strange atmosphere, with no taste in their mouths.

After a while, Evelyn finally steered the conversation towards the Easter Group’s project.

Martin swallowed his food and picked up a napkin to dab at the corners of his mouth, his movements elegant and noble like a prince.

He said, This project is too big for your family to handle.”

Reed squinted his eyes slightly and remained silent.

Evelyn looked around and her heart sank.

Indeed, all of the company’s working capital was invested in other projects.

This project wanted to secure at least ten billion in funding, and it was a bit difficult to fully acquire.

However, how could Martin be so clear about the company’s financial situation?

She tentatively asked, Mr. Wilson, do you want to compete for the bid?”

He pursed his lips and shook his head, We could assist in providing the materials.”

Reed frowned slightly, not believing in his heart that Martin would be willing to give up such a big piece of fat.

He didn’t usually share just a small portion of the soup.

Evelyn pursed her lips and also didn’t believe it. She turned her head and exchanged a glance with Reed, clearly reading each other’s thoughts.

The dinner ended in silence.

Evelyn and Reed greeted each other and then left shoulder to shoulder.

Martin’s eyes dimmed as he once again watched the figures of Evelyn and Reed walking away.

This scene was so similar to what I had dreamed.

He touched the edge of the cup and suddenly felt a bit weak.

He didn’t know how to get into Evelyn’s heart, and Evelyn clearly resisted him.

After leaving the restaurant, he headed straight to the company.

In the elevator, Reed suddenly chuckled and said, Mr. Wilson passed by to the east of the city, it was quite close.”

There were two companies, one located in the south of the city and the other in the east. The rumors circulating about them were quite different.

Evelyn moved her lips, but still did not respond.

Reed saw that she did not react, so he coughed again, this time much louder than before.

Evelyn gave a slight cough and glanced at Reed, who immediately became more obedient.

After getting off the elevator, they would head towards their respective offices.

Reed suddenly called out to Evelyn. Evelyn turned around and saw him hesitate for a moment before finding the right words. My parents have arrived. They think you’ve helped me a lot and would like to have a meal together. Do you have time tonight?”

Evelyn was surprised and pondered for a moment before asking, What time is it?”

Reed didn’t expect her to agree so quickly, and he was instantly filled with joy. He replied, I will pick you up at 6 o’clock tonight.”

The two of them came and went, and determined the time for dinner.

Evelyn said goodbye and waved her hand at him before going to work.

Watching her brisk figure, a smile couldn’t help but curl up at the corner of the mouth.

Oh no, they were still watching even though they had gone far away?”

York Smith, Reed’s brother, lost a bet and as a punishment, he had to work as a secretary at Reed’s company for a year.

Strong work ability, this gamble is worth winning.

Next time, we can trick him again.

York was completely unaware of being plotted against, and at that moment, he emerged with a

mocking expression on his face.

Reed saw him, his smile fading slightly, and resumed his serious work demeanor, You don’t focus on your work during the day and just gossip.”

York raised his hand and made an innocent gesture, saying, I didn’t do it, I’m really innocent.”

He said, winking and raising his eyebrows, If you get married, I will give you a gift. Hurry up, don’t make the brothers wait too long.”

Reed glanced at him and quickly left.

Soon it was evening, and Evelyn looked at her suit with some worry.

Why not go and sell some clothes first? As soon as this thought came to her, she instinctively looked at her colleagues outside the office.

Without waiting for her to act, Reed’s secretary walked in, carrying several bags in her hands.
