Chapter 20 

TESSA 

Finally, the meeting ended. 

The door of the conference hall opened and people started coming out. 

Declan walked out and I tried to read his facial expression. 

To know if the meeting turned out in favor of the company. 

But he had a very hard look on his face. 

My heart fell. 

This could only mean that the project wasn’t accepted. 

“Mr Hudson?”I began,quietly. 

“Let’s get going.”He let out and started walking away. 

I followed suit thinking about how my life is going to turn out from now on. 

I’m definitely getting fired. 

I would have to start job hunting again. 

can only hope to find another job on time. 

But I know it wouldn’t be easy. 

We stood among some people waiting for the elevator. 

was standing behind Declan not even knowing what to say. 

What should I do to make him feel better? 

To lighten the situation? 

He turned around and suddenly asked. 

Why aren’t you asking me how the meeting went?” 

blinked. 

Was there any need to ask?

But then I swallowed and asked. “What was the result?” 

Our company won the bid.” 

frowned. “What?!” 

Why are you so surprised? You didn’t want us to win the bid?” 

I quickly shook my head. 

Chapter 20 

“No it’s just I thought we lost.I mean..you were looking furious when you walked out of the conference hall…” 

“Turious? He cut in. 

Oh he might not think he looks furious so I quickly rephrased that. 

“I mean, you looked normal.” 

“Should I have been jumping for joy?” 

I shrugged. 

“I’m used to winning. “He let out,cockily. 

I discretely eyed him. 

Proud peacock. 

‘But anyway,I’m so happy we won.”I said clasping my palms together… 

I couldn’t even hide how happy I was. 

Ding… 

The elevator arrived and we both got in. 

The elevator immediately became jam packed making practically everyone uncomfortable. 

was at a corner and two men were pressed against my body. 

found it hard to breathe…it wasn’t just uncomfortable…it was embarrassing so I tried by all means to turn around so my back was to them and my chest was ressed against the wall of the elevator. 

still, the person at my back was pressing hard against me.

Excuse me.”I heard someone say and I looked back to see Declan respectfully pushing the men aside. 

He then stood behind me and placed his hands on the wall giving me some space. 

turned to face the wall and smiled. 

Wow… He’s like a fucking Prince Charming right now. 

My Prince Charming. 

know I shouldn’t be blushing so hard but I couldn’t help it. 

stared at his hands which were against the wall….protecting me from feeling uncomfortable. 

His scent enveloped me and I sighed deeply. 

The hard thumping of my heart snapped me out of my reverie. 

placed my hand on my chest trying to stop it from beating like that. 

He’s just being a gentleman. 

There’s no need of getting all worked up.

The elevator stopped and when I stretched my neck to look at the numbers on the screen. 

It wasn’t the first floor. 

Minority of the people got out and I couldn’t wait for us to get to the first floor already. 

At the same time, I wished the elevator would slow down and let me be in this position for a while. 

This was crazy. 

I felt him move closer and I felt his breath on my neck. 

My heart rate accelerated even more. 

And the fact that I started thinking about how I had slept with this man made matters worse for me. 

I can’t believe we had been together on a bed…naked. 

swallowed and slowly twisted my body to feel comfortable of a sort. 

‘Don’t move.”He whispered.

His eyes were dilated and his jaw clenched. 

Was he feeling as uncomfortable as I was? 

Then I felt him move again and something hard pressed against my body. 

I bit my bottom lip and he moved back a bit. 

But I could still feel him against my ass. 

It was as if he was still there! 

Oh my God! 

I could finally tell why he looked like that. 

He was bearing down on a hard-on. 

Did I make him hard? 

My face grew hotter. 

Ding! 

I hurriedly looked at the numbers and we were finally on the first floor. 

Thank Goodness! 

Everyone started walking out and I quickly stepped out as well before he did. 

I was walking briskly but I was kind of aware that he was behind me. 

I touched my face…. 

What was that? 

I thought he was being a gentleman and protecting me but it ended up being some kind of seduction. 

“Tessa 

1 froze as he called. 

We had just come by his car. 

He stood in front of me and awkwardly looked around. 

He seemed embarrassed and a bit nervous. 

I frowned. 

This was so unlike him… 

I haven’t seen him this vulnerable before. 

He stuck his hand into his pocket and cleared his throat. 

“Hmmm…you did a pretty good job.And I know how you’ve been working so hard to make this happen. You can have three days off.” 

I nodded,dumbly.”Thank you.” 

“Let’s..let’s head back.”He said and looked around again then he quickly turned and got into the back seat. 

I bit my lip and got into the front seat beside the driver’s. 

I didn’t want to be seated so close to him right now. 

I have to get my thoughts together. 

Still,it didn’t help… 

The memories of that night started replaying in my head. 

This time…clearer… 

The way he rose above me…the way he slid inside…..the way he made me moan. 

I swallowed…. 

He really fucked me so good. 

We didn’t say anything to each other throughout the ride. 

When I finally got back to my desk,my colleagues came around to congratulate me. 

Audrey came around and hugged me. 

“Tessa,thank you so much. I’m so happy you pulled this off.I wouldn’t have been able to forgive me if you had gotten fired.” 

“Oh stop it. You’ve helped me a lot too,Audrey…” 

Tessa,Mr Hudson wants you in his office.”Ethan cut in. 

I panicked. 

What does he want now? 

Perhaps to continue what he started at the elevator?!
