Chapter 1150 

After the Silas matter was settled, Sharon felt an unusual lightness in her chest. The tension that had gripped her for days finally began to ease. 

For Sharon, defeating Silas wasn’t merely about seizing power or gaining profit–it was about teaching him a lesson he would never forget, ensuring he would never again dare to strut into her presence with empty threats. 

Sitting in the car, she turned to look at Thomas. 

“Thomas, thank you for everything this time. Without your help, I could never have managed to take over Silas’s company so easily.” 

Thomas offered a faint smile. “I may have provided some guidance, but the execution was entirely up to you. Some people, no matter how much help they get, just can’t rise. Your experiences may be few now, but every one of them will shape the lessons you carry into the future,” 

Sharon turned her head, smiling. “You don’t look all that old, yet it feels like you’ve lived through so much.” 

Thomas shrugged. “Perhaps it’s just that I’ve worked more and seen more than most people.” 

She wanted to ask more about his past, but the words caught in her throat. Some things, she felt, were too personal to pry into. 

Then, unexpectedly, Thomas asked, “Carter and Julliard–are they gone? 

“Julliard has already left,” Sharon replied, “and Carter will be heading back in a couple of days.” 

Their extended stay had primarily been for a business conference held in Marcentine. But with the unexpected incidents affecting both Julliard and Sharon, their departures had been delayed. 

Thomas asked, “Theo is going back as well?” 

Sharon nodded gently. “Yes. He still has school, but when his vacation comes, I’ll bring him over to stay a while.” 

Thomas nodded in acknowledgment and did not press further. 

The car drove steadily from the bustling city into the quiet outskirts. The streets grew empty, the surrounding areas increasingly remote, almost deserted. Even after years in Marcentine, Sharon had never been to such a secluded place. 

She glanced at Thomas beside her, noting his calm, unreadable expression. He didn’t seem inclined to speak, and she wisely chose not to ask. 

After another half–hour drive, Sharon caught sight of a vibrant sea of flowers, their delicate fragrance drifting through the air. 1 

The blooms were unlike any she had seen–less showy than the famed flowers of the region, yet dazzling in their abundance, leaving a profound visual impact. Even the rarest plants in the Kalen family estate could not 

compare. 

The car came to a gentle stop. Sharon stepped out, eyes wide at the explosion of colors around her.

For the first time in a while, a genuine smile spread across her face. “This is beautiful. Thomas… how did you even find a place like this?” 

Thomas replied simply, “I spent a few years living in Marcentine. I stumbled upon it by chance.” 

The air was cool with the hint of autumn, the afternoon sun gentle rather than oppressive. Sharon picked a clean patch of grass and flopped down casually, lying back to take in the scenery, 

Thomas’s eyebrows lifted slightly, surprised by her unguarded ease. 

Noticing his reaction, Sharon asked, “Do I look completely unrefined to you?” 

Thomas sat down beside her on the grass, nodding honestly. “You’ve always been so graceful.” 

Sharon laughed. “That’s only because you’ve never seen me in a mess, or when Kelly pushed me to the edge of my sanity.” 

Thomas fell into an uncharacteristic silence. 

Lying on the grass, Sharon breathed in the sweet scent of earth and greenery. 

She murmured, “You’re not wrong. Ever since marrying Carter, I’ve had to maintain an elegant image all these years… just to keep him from being embarrassed.”
