Perhaps someone had deliberately suppressed the information, for not a single photograph of Thomas could be found anywhere. Yet, for those who knew where to look, Information about him wasn’t difficult to uncover. 

Thomas’s methods, his precision, his quiet dominance–none of it fell short of Jamle’s own. 

“I just can’t figure it out,” Victoria said, frowning, “Why would a guy like Thomas stay by Sharon’s side?” 

Even now, she didn’t believe Thomas harbored any romantle feelings for Sharon. 

So what if she was beautiful? She was a divorcée and a mother, no less. For a man like Thomas, who could have any woman he wanted, why would he choose Sharon? 1 

On that point, Jamie and Victoria were of one mind. He didn’t believe Thomas was interested in Sharon either. 

After a brief silence, Jamie said, “His ambitions inight run much deeper than we think. Maybe he intends to swallow the entire Kalen family. The money he’s put forward isn’t charity–he’ll want something in return. 

“For all we know, Sharon’s shares have already fallen into his hands. To win her trust, he’d first have to give her something sweet.” 

Victoria’s brows knitted together. “Jamie, do you think Sharon even knows who he really is?” 

“She shouldn’t,” Jamie replied. “If she did, she wouldn’t be treating him like a bodyguard. She’d be treating him like a god.” 

Her 

paused, an edge of calculation flashing in his gaze. “And maybe the Kalen family isn’t his only target. He could be after my family too. In fact, he’s already halfway there. Johanna’s completely under his spell now.” 

A glint of frost flickered in Jamie’s eyes. 

“Thomas wants to devour the Kalen family? Fine. We’ll wait. Let’s see exactly what his endgame is. And when the time comes…” 1 

A cruel smile tugged at his lips, “We’ll strike first and hit him where it hurts most. Then it won’t be him taking from us, but us taking from him.” 

His voice lowered into a silken murmur, laced with ambition. 

“Why not use this as an opportunity to swallow the Ferrero family whole?” 

Victoria didn’t bother to hide her own hunger for power in front of him. She thought it an excellent idea.

thought struck her. “Shouldn’t we at least warn my dad and brothers?” 

“The more people who know,” Jamie said, “the greater the risk. If they find out, only two things can happen- either they grow wary of Thomas, or they try to win him over. Neither outcome benefits us. 

“Thomas isn’t someone ordinary. If they start being cautious, he’ll sense it. And if they try to draw him in… your dad and brothers combined still wouldn’t be a match for a man as cunning as him.” 

Victoria sighed. “That’s exactly what I’m afraid of. If Thomas makes another move, my other brothers might.

Jamie waved the concern away. “Silas’s loss doesn’t shake the Kalen Group’s foundation. It’s painful, yes, but sometimes you have to sacrifice a pawn to catch a wolf. If Sharon hadn’t thrown in that two billion, Silas never would’ve walked into the trap in the first place.” 

Victoria fell silent for a while, then nodded. “Alright. We’ll do it your way.” 

Jamie’s lips curved into a faint smile. “Don’t worry, Victoria. If anything truly happens to the Kalen family, I will be there to hold the line.” I 

That battle marked Sharon’s greatest triumph–so clean, so absolute, it later became a textbook case in business schools, often cited as one of the most stunning turnarounds in corporate history. 

But that, of course, came later. 

Once the dust of Silas’s downfall had settled, Thomas found time to reach out. He invited Sharon out for a private meeting.
