Chapter 226 Gideon Is In A Foul Mood 

“Still, since Nancy is so sure of herself, let’s help her keep the secret,” Winter said. 

“That works for me,” Raine replied with a bright smile. 

Identical flashes of malice flickered in their eyes. 

Elsewhere, Freya stayed with Martha until the evening. 

After Nancy walked Freya out and saw her to the car, she headed back to her hotel. 

Gideon walked beside her, holding her hand. 

When they reached the hotel entrance, they saw someone waiting outside. 

“Good to see you again, Mr. Fuller,” Miguel said with a crooked smile on his face. “Nancy and I haven’t seen each other in a long time. I’d like a word with her alone.” 

“It’s late,” Gideon said, his eyes darkening. “Whatever you want can wait until tomorrow.” Miguel turned to Nancy, his gaze fixed on her. “Nancy, you want to talk to me, don’t you?” 

After all these years, she was still as stunning as always. 

Nancy met his gaze, her eyes as cold as ice. 

“Let’s go in,” Gideon murmured. “Ignore him.” 

“Gideon, you can head back first,” Nancy said. 

“Nancy?” Gideon frowned, sensing that something was off. But her gaze stayed fixed on Miguel. 

After exhaling a long breath, Gideon nodded. “I’ll wait out here. Call me if you need anything.” 

Nancy walked over to Miguel, and the two of them entered the hotel. 

Gideon leaned against a pillar and pulled out a cigarette. He was about to light it, but stopped short when he realized that Nancy would catch the smell if she walked out. 

He turned the unlit cigarette between his fingers and stared into the darkness. 

A peculiar unease pressed against his chest. 

“Gideon!” 

Winter jogged up to him at this moment, her heart kicking at the sight of his striking face. Then, she noticed the deep frown carved between his brows, and jealousy pricked at her.. 

Was Nancy really that important to him?

“Gideon, are you waiting for Nancy?” Winter asked, biting her lower lip. “She won’t be coming out tonight.” 

Gideon looked over at her, his expression turning frigid. “Did you forget my warning, Winter? Smear Nancy’s name again, and I won’t go easy on you!” 

“I’m not smearing her name!” she said quickly, clearly wounded. “Nancy and Miguel have always been close. They went their separate ways because of a misunderstanding, but he never got over her. He turned up tonight, and she agreed to meet him immediately.” 

Gideon’s face stayed impassive, though a chill seemed to slice straight through his chest. For some reason, the night felt bitterly cold today. 

“So what? Nancy is my girlfriend now,” he said, his voice hard with defiance. 

“But she loves Miguel. Why else would she leave you out here?” Winter sighed. “Give it up, Gideon. She’s only with you for your money and power!” 

“Shut up!” 

His sharp tone made Winter flinch. 

His eyes darkened, and his voice seemed to turn to ice. “Get out of my sight!” 

Winter trembled and bit back what she’d meant to say. Under his piercing gaze, she spun on her heel and fled. 

Gideon stood at the hotel entrance the entire night. He called Nancy, but her phone had been turned off. His grip tightened around his own phone until the veins stood out on the back of his hands. 

Dawn came sooner than he wanted, and Nancy still hadn’t come out. With no other choice, Gideon headed to Fuller Group for his early meeting. 

Corey met Gideon as soon as the latter walked in and began running through the day’s schedule. Halfway through, Corey felt the air grow cold.
