Chapter 111Â
Zachary slowly sat down, and the cushion dipped under his weight.Â
“Jess,” he called softly.Â
Jessica let out a low groan. She was a light sleeper. Unless she had been drinking, she usually stirred at the slightest sound.Â
He combed his fingers through her hair and carefully lifted her into his arms.Â
Her eyes fluttered open, and the first thing she saw was that handsome, chiseled face of his. Her cheeks flushed instantly, betraying her.Â
His body was radiating heat against hers, and she dared not move. As her ear rested against his burning chest, she could clearly hear the steady, powerful rhythm of his heartbeat.Â
His steps were steady as he carried her. And even when he laid her down on the bed, hisÂ
movements were gentle.Â
Jessica squeezed her eyes shut, afraid he might want more. They had already done it twiceÂ
earlier.Â
If not for the international call that pulled him away to deal with some work, he probably would have gone at her again.Â
Against expectations, the lights went out.Â
Zachary did not make a move.Â
What? Was he worried someone might steal her in the middle of the night?Â
Jessica’s face flushed red, and she buried herself in the crook of his arm. She could practically feel her ears burning.Â
The next time he asked her to clean up his mess of admirers, she was just going to let it rot. She’d let it stay as messy as ever.Â
Zachary pinched her cheek lightly and pressed a warm, damp kiss to her forehead.Â
His hoarse voice brushed against her ear. “I want…”Â
She was not stupid. She knew that there was no escaping him.Â
Her heart pounded wildly in her chest, and she began to feel a fierce intensity.Â
Zachary turned over on the bed and trapped her beneath him. He lowered his voice, almostÂ

pleading as he asked, “Can I?”Â
Her breath came deep and heavy as his hands pinned her wrist beside her head.Â

The next morning, Zachary was already gone by the time Jessica woke.Â
Still, breakfast waited for her in the kitchen.Â
She got up carefully, her whole body weak.Â
He might have been the one doing all the work, but somehow she felt like she was the one who had fought the battle.Â
Where did that man get so much stamina?Â
She glanced at the glass of lemon water on the nightstand and downed it in one go.Â
From the basement parking lot, Jessica stepped into the elevator to head up to the office.Â
Her tablet was tucked beneath her arm, a yellow wool coat draped over one hand.Â
A white blouse paired with a black knee–length pencil skirt and high–heeled boots made her frame look even taller and more striking.Â
She pressed for the 28th floor.Â
When the elevator reached the first floor, the doors opened, and she froze.Â
A wave of dark–suited figures and one man in white stepped in.Â
Jessica instinctively backed up.Â
Zachary, dressed in a crisp white shirt, stepped forward and slipped an arm around her waist the moment he entered.Â
She tensed, trying to pull away, terrified someone might notice. But his grip only tightened, giving her no room to think or move.Â
Six men with buzz cuts followed behind him, all in black suits. They stood straight and silentÂ
beside them.Â
The whole scene made it look like a squad of bodyguards escorting two VIPs.Â
Zachary’s lips curved faintly as his hand idly kneaded her waist. It was teasing and possessive, just like last night.Â

“Good morning, Mrs. Jones.” The six men spoke in unison.Â
Jessica gulped nervously. Her ears turned red as she stammered a quiet response and nodded slightly.Â
Finally, on the 28th floor, Zachary reluctantly released her.Â
The second the doors opened, Jessica bolted out like her life depended on it.Â
“Woah-”Â
A few people standing by the elevators, about to deliver some documents, stared wide–eyed at the seven men. They managed to snap a few quick photos and sent them straight to the group chat.Â
It was a good thing Jessica ran fast, or she would have been caught in the shot, too.Â
“Coming to work feels like walking into a nightclub. Damn, the boss is too fucking hot. And even his entourage is hot as hell!”Â
“So many men. All men…Â
“What time are they leaving? I want to catch a glimpse, too!”Â
