After putting away their luggage, Joshua led Elsa to find Jessica.Â
“He’s kind of controlling,” Elsa said, sitting on the lobby couch and snacking. “Even with such a huge apartment, there’s only one bedroom. He just doesn’t want anyone disturbing youÂ
two.”Â
Jessica laughed as she nibbled on her snack while Joshua busied himself in the kitchen, preparing lunch.Â
“No, I heard that he injured his leg a few years ago and didn’t want anyone bothering him, so he only set up one bedroom,” Jessica replied.Â
She had secretly asked Ginger about the details.Â
There was also a reason why he always wore black. In the year of the incident, he had been on a mission in a plain white outfit. Blood had soaked through it, and he only wore black ever since.Â
Before knowing the truth, she had made him a white shirt, just to see if he would dare to wear it. To her surprise, he had.Â
Once she’d learned of the reason, she continued making him white shirts, hoping he would let go of the past darkness. He didn’t seem to mind.Â
“His leg’s injured. Is he able to… Well, you know…”Â
Jessica blushed instantly, remembering the night before, when he had been completely exposed. In truth, she wasn’t sure if he was capable.Â
Elsa looked at her expectantly.Â
“We haven’t done it yet,” Jessica admitted.Â
“So it’s still just lip service?” Elsa asked, feeling surprised.Â
“Sort of,” Jessica murmured.Â
Elsa couldn’t understand it. With a body like that, Zachary surely wouldn’t be careless in bed. And with a beauty like Jessica by his side, how could he possibly control himself?Â
“He’s staying over tonight,” Jessica revealed.Â
Elsa raised an eyebrow. “So he’s finally decided to come back? Did something set him off?”Â
Jessica recounted everything that had happened over the past few days, and Elsa’s jaw dropped.Â

“What am I going to do? I’m so nervous,” Jessica said.Â
“Why be nervous? It’s not like you’ve never slept with him,” Elsa teased, rolling her eyes.Â
“Ladies, lunch is ready,” Joshua called from the kitchen, carrying the plates of food to theÂ
table.Â
The women set down their snacks and moved to the dining table.Â
“I’m not much of a cook, so just bear with it,” Joshua said humbly.Â
Elsa offered a few polite words.Â
When they finally started eating, they realized the meal was really just passable. They should have just ordered takeout, but talking made them forget everything else.Â
“Mr. Jones is treating everyone to dinner at The Mansion tonight, so come back for dinner,” Joshua said, awkwardly swallowing the food he had made.Â
Joshua drove the two women around that evening.Â
Jessica and Elsa had been chattering nonstop all day, and they showed no signs of stopping inÂ
the car.Â
Joshua’s ears felt like they were about to burst.Â
“Have you found a place yet?” Jessica asked.Â
“Not yet. I borrowed Joshua from Mr. Jones to check out the apartments you suggested,” Elsa replied.Â
“That’s great. At least now we’ll have someone to hang out with,” Jessica said with a chuckle.Â
“Capitalists are the worst,” Joshua muttered, tightening his grip on the steering wheel.Â
“Mr. Smith, once this deal’s done, I’m taking you clubbing. I brought you out to relax, you know. You’ve helped Jess so much. You deserve a little reward,” Elsa said with a mischievous smile.Â
Joshua chuckled. He knew Jessica had a group of fun–loving girlfriends, and he guessed that Elsa wasn’t joking about the clubbing invitation.Â
Elsa leaned toward Jessica. “Hey, has he added you yet?”Â
Jessica opened her alternate Instagram account and saw the familiar profile picture.Â

“Yeah,” she said.Â
“Want to try flirting with him from your alt account and see if he can keep it together?” ElsaÂ
teased.Â
“You’re crazy!” Jessica hissed.Â
The two whispered amongst themselves in the backseat.Â
The car eventually rolled to a stop at the entrance. Jessica and Elsa got out while Joshua drove down to park in the basement.Â
By chance, they ran into Sasha on the first floor.Â
They didn’t greet each other, behaving as if they were strangers.Â
Jessica didn’t pay it any mind and stepped into the elevator with Elsa.Â
They soon entered the private room that Zachary had reserved upstairs, where the man himself was already waiting.Â
Meanwhile, Susan was busy double–checking the documents nearby.Â
