Chapter 195 Skylar’s Confession 

The crowd was left stunned. 

“Skylar?” 

“Mr. Gibson?” 

“What does he mean by that? Did he actually go after Hillary before?” 

Very few people knew anything about Skylar and Hillary’s connection. At that moment, everyone was 

floored by his words. 

Skylar was one of the most powerful figures in the Boraskan elite circle, second only to Gideon! 

Meanwhile, Hanson was just a B-list celebrity. Whether it be his looks or background, he couldn’t hold a candle to Skylar. 

Wendy’s eyes widened as whispers around her revealed the man’s identity. 

Even Hanson was unsettled, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. 

He’d been positioned as the “victim” in this scandal, planning to milk some attention from it. 

But Skylar once pursued Hillary? What on earth did someone like Skylar see in her? 

The audience buzzed. 

“If even Skylar wasn’t good enough for Hillary, why would she ever look twice at Hanson?” 

“Honestly, I thought it was fishy from the start. Hillary’s an A-list celebrity. Why would she chase after a B-list celebrity? Hanson isn’t even that handsome.” 

“If I were her, I’d only do that if someone cast a spell on me!” 

“Exactly!” 

With just one line, Skylar had almost completely swung public opinion back in Hillary’s favor. 

Hillary froze. She never expected Skylar to speak up. She stared at him with complicated feelings. 

Didn’t Skylar always despise her? Why was he defending her now? 

Could it be that he was just doing it to protect the Gibson family’s reputation? 

That had to be it. Skylar cared deeply about appearances. 

If it ever came out that Hillary was the Gibson family’s foster daughter, it would reflect badly on them. But with what he’d just said, wouldn’t their ties hurt the family’s image even more if the truth got exposed someday? 

 

On the stage, Wendy felt the sting of countless eyes boring into her, and her face immediately went 

pale. 

“Wendy, haven’t you made enough of a scene?” someone heckled. “Did you think you could use this to tank Hillary’s new drama series? You must have never expected Skylar to like her, right?” 

“N-No, that’s not it!” Wendy’s mind went blank. No one was buying her excuses anymore. 

Her knees trembled. She couldn’t just let it end here. Otherwise, she would be doomed, and so would her drama series! 

From her seat, Natalie silently cursed Wendy for being an idiot before smoothly saying, “I’m inclined to believe Hillary, but Skylar pursuing her doesn’t mean Hillary couldn’t also like Hanson, 

does it?” 

That snapped Wendy back to herself. “Exactly! Hillary may not be into Skylar, but wouldn’t it be perfectly natural if she happens to prefer someone like my boyfriend instead? 

“After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Even if Skylar chased after her, it doesn’t erase the 

fact that she seduced my boyfriend. We all saw those hotel photos!” 

The crowd looked dazed. 

“So what’s the truth? I can’t even tell anymore.” 

“I mean, Wendy kind of has a point. Love isn’t just about looks or status.’ 

 

“True. And those photos taken at the hotel don’t lie. Maybe Hillary was juggling too much, and being with Skylar scared her into hiding the affair, afraid he’d retaliate if he found out. 

Through it all, Hillary remained composed. She asked coolly, “I’ll ask one last time. Hanson, Mr. Foster, are you still refusing to admit what you did?” 

Hanson sighed. “Hillary, just apologize. Wendy’s request isn’t unreasonable. Why make this harder than it has to be?” 

Natalie’s drama director, Benson Foster, chimed in, “Yeah, Hillary. Everyone makes mistakes. If you apologize, the audience will forgive you. Just don’t do it again.”
