Chapter 124

This was the fourth time Skyler had gone to the hospital to clean up a mess for Jay.

Ever since taking the medicine Valerie had given him, Jay had not only been transferred to a regular ward, but all of his physical indicators had gradually returned to normal.

Skyler hadn’t told his wife or daughter about the deal he had made with Valerie.

Firstly, the property given to Valerie had belonged to Lilith in the first place. The document Skyler signed under Everett’s arrangement was merely a notarization. With that, Valerie could formally process the ownership transfer.

Since the property didn’t have much to do with the Woodward family, Skyler saw no need to let his family know.

Secondly, although Marnie was his legal wife, she didn’t know exactly how many assets he possessed. He didn’t want her to find out that he had transferred two billion to Valerie. Otherwise, she would nag endlessly at him and find yet another excuse to start a quarrel.

To Marnie, their son’s improving condition was the result of her donations to charity that finally caused mercy to be shown to the Woodward family.

But the truth was that ever since Jay had regained his mobility, he had started calling his friends to hang out with him in the ward.

Jay stayed in a luxurious suite at a private hospital. It was no less comfortable than a five-star

hotel.

His closest friends all came from wealthy families like his own. They were just spoiled brats

who did whatever they pleased with no sense of restraint.

A private hospital like this never lacked young and beautiful nurses.

When Jay saw a pretty nurse come in to give him an injection, his lust flared up. Together with his buddies, he had teased and harassed the frightened young women.

The more terrified the nurses looked, the more it seemed to excite their animalistic tendencies.

Every nurse who had been harassed ended up in tears, filing complaints to the hospital administration. However, those complaints would vanish without a trace.

The administrators knew what was happening, but no one dared to act.

It wasn’t that they didn’t want to intervene. They simply couldn’t afford to.

After all, the hospital’s major shareholder was Skyler himself. There was no way anyone would dare to discipline the son of such a powerful man. Forget harassing a few nurses, who would stop him, even if he did something worse?

The fourth nurse he harassed had only just graduated from university. When she came to administer an injection, Jay suddenly pinned her to the bed.

His friends burst into laughter, while the terrified nurse screamed for help.

Even though doctors were passing by outside, they chose to look the other way.

Refusing to be humiliated, the nurse struggled and slapped Jay hard across the face.

He had never been treated that way in his life. So, he furiously barked at his friends, “Teach her a hard lesson.”

At his command, the young nurse experienced the darkest moment of her life.

These delinquents had no sense of morality or consequence. In their eyes, anyone who worked

for a living was nothing more than a lowly servant.

Hurting or killing someone made no difference to them. With their families’ money, a few million dollars could easily buy their way out of any punishment.

The young nurse, who had only just stepped into society, was beaten so badly that her nose was broken. Her teeth were knocked out, and her arm was twisted until it fractured. Even her

left eye was likely beyond saving.

She was a university graduate who hadn’t even had the chance to repay her parents for raising her. Yet, she was destroyed by a pack of scum.

When her parents and relatives learned what had happened, they came to the hospital carrying banners to protest.

But before they could even raise the banner, the hospital security guards ruthlessly beat them down with batons.

By the time Skyler arrived at the hospital, the chaos had temporarily subsided.
