Chapter 164 Gideon’s Coldness 

“You and Gideon are together? Then what about my brother?” Winter inched closer to Nancy.” Nancy, what does my brother mean to you?” 

Nancy’s eyes grew colder. “We’re just friends.” 

“Just friends?” Winter’s face twisted. “His feelings for you are obvious, can’t you see it? Still, you run off and seduce Gideon. Fine, let me tell you the truth. Gideon’s only playing with you.” 

“Winter, that’s enough!” 

“You texted him tonight, right? Want to know why he didn’t reply right away? Because we were out shopping together.” Winder slowly traced the edge of her nails. “Our parents want the two of us to marry. Nancy, no matter how good you think you are, you’re just a Lidell from Riversdale. 

“Someone from a family like yours could never match someone from the Fuller family.” 

Nancy’s expression didn’t flicker, but she clenched her fists. “Gideon isn’t like that.” 

“How would you know?” Winter laughed. “Don’t tell me you actually believe that just because he treats you a little better, he really loves you? He just finds you entertaining at the moment. Men always want something new. You’re hard to pin down, so you keep him interested.” 

Winter paused for dramatic effect before continuing, “My advice? Don’t fall too deep. Gideon is going to marry me in the end.” 

She gave Nancy a shove, and Nancy narrowed her eyes. 

“Well? Don’t just stand there,” Winter urged. 

Nancy was expressionless. “You leave.” 

Winter let out a mocking laugh, satisfied that she had planted her seed of doubt, and walked calmly 

into the elevator. 

Nancy’s hands curled into fists as unease swarmed her chest. If Winter had stayed, Nancy could have dismissed it as mere provocation. But Winter left immediately after. 

Nancy then walked to the door and knocked. 

Silence. 

Winter had just left, so Gideon had to be inside. 

Was he avoiding her? 

Nancy’s chest felt like it had been gripped by a heavy hand.

“Gideon,” she called. 

Still no answer. 

Nancy lowered her eyes. She set the cake down at his door, then turned and walked away. 

The next morning, the team was deep in discussion about a real estate project in Duran Corporation’s meeting room. 

“What do you think, Ms. Moore?” Johnny asked, glancing her way. 

Nancy had been distracted, but quickly gathered herself and shared her views. Johnny nodded, his expression showing obvious admiration. 

When the meeting ended, he walked out with her. “Ms. Moore, you didn’t seem like yourself today.” 

“Sorry. It won’t happen again,” Nancy said apologetically. 

“I’m not criticizing you,” Johnny assured. “If something’s on your mind, you can tell me. 

Nancy shook her head. “I’ll handle it myself.” 

Johnny studied her for a long moment, then suddenly stepped in front of her, producing a small, elegant box. “Ms. Moore, happy birthday.” 

Nancy blinked in surprise. “How did you know it was my birthday? 

“I checked your file,” Jonny sheepishly admitted. “Sorry, I just wanted to understand you better.” 

Basic personal information was included in the company records. 

Nancy nodded. “Thank you. I appreciate the thought, but you don’t need to give me a gift.” 

“Please take it. I know the Lidells favor Raine and never celebrate your birthday. That’s not right. If I were you, I’d feel the same pain,” Johnny pressed.
