Chapter 87 One Child for a Hundred Million

Catherine struggled to muster a smile. Mr. Murphy, I have no intention of finding someone new. And keeping this baby is my own choice.”

Tony stood up too. His smile never faltered as he said, Catherine, think it over. It won’t cost you anything. Just one night. That’s all.”

Catherine stepped back with her bag in hand as she forced a courteous smile. Mr. Murphy, I appreciate your kindness, but I won’t be considering this.”

With that, she turned to leave. But after only a few steps, someone stepped in and blocked her path. She felt nervous all of a sudden

Catherine, don’t be so ungracious. There are 12 of us here. Each putting in ten million would cover your research costs in full

Where else could you find a deal like this? One of the men chuckled as he reached out to touch her

face

Catherine turned away, deliberately avoiding him. She replied indifferently, Even if I were

desperate for investment, I’d never use my own child as the bargaining chip. I appreciate the offer, but I’ll be leaving now.”

From behind her came Tony’s low and gloomy voice. Catherine, do you know how much effort I put into lining up these investors for you? Isn’t that a bit inappropriate for you to walk off like this over a few words?”

Catherine’s eyes narrowed, and her grip on the bag tightened instinctively as tension surged through

her

When Tony first approached her, she had believed it was only out of respect for Wesley. She never imagined his help came with such intentions

Catherine had also heard of men with twisted tastes, but she hadn’t expected them to target her

From the very moment she carried that child, she had never considered letting it go

Catherine drew a deep breath. The more dangerous the situation, the more she had to stay composed and keep Tony and the others under control

She smiled faintly. I really appreciate your help, Mr. Murphy. But this is my child, and I want to give birth to it-”

Tony interrupted, “Well, children will always come. And if you want, our genes aren’t bad either.Hearing that, Catherine felt a wave of physical disgust. The elders before her, who looked kind and

gentle, were actually vile and repulsive at their core

Her hands and feet started to go cold. Glancing at the people blocking the door, she felt utter despair. From the moment she entered this room, these people had no intention of letting her go

Tony had tricked her

Tony stepped closer and revealed a sickeningly vile grin. Catherine, after tonight, the money will be in your account. One child for a hundred million. You won’t lose out.”

Catherine shook her head

Tony seemed to have dropped all pretense of humanity, exposing a cruel, malicious side

She fought to stay composed. With so many eyes on her, acting rashly was out of the question. She stayed silent for a moment before saying, I need some time to think

Tony nodded patiently. Fine. We’re patient, but don’t keep us waiting too long.”

Catherine responded with a nod, thinking about how to get herself out of that dangerous situation. If she had known from the start what those people were really plotting, she wouldn’t have ended up in such a vulnerable position

Just then, her phone rang, and all eyes turned toward her

Under Tony’s watchful gaze, Catherine slowly took out her phone

It was Adam calling

Catherine asked, Mr. Murphy, may I take this?”

Go ahead, but remember what you can and can’t say,Tony said, his expression warm and

reassuring

Catherine answered the call. Mr. Mayo, what’s the matter?”

Adam was about to say something, but Catherine interrupted, Mr. Mayo, I happen to have something to tell you

The hospital is urging me to pay the bill, so please handle it. Also, I won’t be coming back tonight, so you don’t need to pick me up.”

Without waiting for Adam to reply, Catherine hung up. She then looked up at Tony. Mr. Murphy, I’ve made up my mind. One child is definitely not worth a hundred million in investment.”

Tony smiled with satisfaction. Aren’t you a smart young lady?”

Catherine smiled softly. But I want to touch up my makeup first. Mr. Murphy, would that be okay?Tony didn’t doubt her, but he didn’t let his guard down either. He smiled warmly. I’ll go with you.”
