“Ms. Waverly is still waiting for you at the hospital, yet you came here instead. Are you not afraid she’ll be sad?”
As soon as she said that, he pulled her in with a powerful force, slamming her into his firm chest. The cool yet domineering scent of cedar, which belonged to Gabriel, enveloped her in an instant.
He grabbed her waist with one hand and stroked her back slowly with the other. The heat of his palm burnt her skin through her thin clothes, making her feel numb.
His thin lips neared her ear, his breath hot.
“Why must you say one thing when you mean another? You obviously look forward to my coming, but you keep pushing me toward Amelia. Do you think I’ll spare you a second glance if you do this?”
he asked.

“You were the one who had an affair, yet you have the nerve to question if I have another man. How dare you?” he barked.
Gabriel turned around slowly. A red palm print was quickly forming on one of his cheeks.
He looked at her fiery gaze and saw no schemes or pretense. All that was was the purest rage for being wrongfully accused.
He felt his heart drop. He seemed to have truly pissed her off.
He slowly released his grip around her wrist.
Right when Emily thought he would turn around and leave, Gabriel walked past her with a blank face, heading toward her bedroom.
Emily was taken aback.
“What are you doing?” she called out.
He opened her bedroom door and grabbed a spare bathrobe from her closet. Then, he went into the
bathroom.
Emily wanted to stop him, but it was already too late. The sound of flowing water rang out in the
bathroom.
She stood in place, feeling so angry that her body was shaking.
Gabriel was just ridiculous.
After some time, the sound of the gushing water stopped. The bathroom door opened, and out came Gabriel.
He was wearing nothing but a bathrobe that was tied loosely. His firm and sexy chest was fully exposed, his abs chiseled. Every part of him exuded a lethal, masculine air.
Emily’s breath was taken away, but she turned her head away, pretending to ignore him.
