Chapter 19

Rox?Stanley gasped, rubbing his eyes in disbelief

The woman before him was wearing a sharp business suit, looking very different from the Roxanne he knew. He hesitated, almost afraid to approach her

Roxanne turned around and looked at the man she couldn’t be more familiar with. She had thought it would hurt to see him again, but to her surprise, now that three months had passed, she felt nothing in her heart

So that was what it felt like to stop loving someone

Rox, I’ve finally found you!”

Stanley abandoned all sense of decorum, pushing through the crowd, stumbling his way to Roxanne

I’ve already seen Macy’s true colors, and I’ve punished her harshly. She’s pregnant and stuck at home for the sake of the baby right now, but once the baby’s born, you can do whatever you want to torment her. As long as you forgive me, you can do as you please.”

Roxanne stared at Stanley, who was looking at her with deep affection in his eyes, but all she felt was a wave of disgust

So he was able to suddenly see through Macy when she left? What about the years before? What about all the pain she had to suffer through

She waved off the security guards who had come to restrain Stanley, then looked him in the eye seriously. She’s pregnant? Whose baby is it?”

Stanley instantly turned deathly pale. It’s not mine. You know I have a condition, and it’s only gotten worse,he said through gritted teeth, admitting to the thing he’d always refused to acknowledge

The condition threatened his dignity as a man, but if he didn’t clarify it now, Roxanne might carry this misunderstanding with her forever

“Rox, I’ve even admitted to such a thing in public. Surely you’ll forgive me now, right?he thought

Yet, to his surprise, Roxanne merely swirled the wine glass in her hand and gave a cold laugh

Since when would your parents allow a child who didn’t carry the Frey bloodline to exist? You slept with her, didn’t you? Don’t pretend you’re so innocent, Stanley. You make me sick.”

Stanley stared at Roxanne, visibly hurt. He was well aware of his mistakes, and he had been searching for her for three months. How could she be so heartless toward him

Rox, I know I’ve really messed up. What will it take for you to forgive me? You can yell at me or hit meanything! I’m begging you. I need you, I can’t live without you!”

He stepped forward, reaching out to grab her, wanting to kiss her and pull her into his arms. That was what he had always done whenever Roxanne was mad at him back then. And when she was breathless in his embrace, with her face flushed red, that always meant that she had forgiven him

But before Stanley could even touch her, a kick sent him falling to the floor

Timothy stared at the man who had tormented his sister with utter disgust. He wanted nothing more

than to beat him senseless

Who let him in here?he demanded

Mr. Frey, for someone of your status to crash a private event and harass a female guest are you completely disregarding your family’s reputation?Timothy continued

Furious, Stanley scrambled to his feet and stared straight at Timothy. I came here for my wife. Who

the hell are you to interfere?”

Then, as if realizing something, his face twisted in heartbreak as he turned to Roxanne

Rox, is it because of him? Macy said you’ve hooked up with someone else, but I thought she was lying to me. So, it’s because of this man that you’re still not willing to come home, even after so long? It’s because of this man that you cheated on me and don’t want me anymore?”

He clenched his teeth as he glared at Timothy. What’s so great about him? Is he richer than me? Or does he have a higher status? We’ve had a child togethercan he compete with that?”

Roxanne replied calmly, His name is Timothy Reid. And in my heart, you could never measure up to

him.”

Reid?”

This only made Stanley more furious. He recalled hearing that the CEO of Novex was a Reid,so this

must be him

No wonder Novex had been stealing business from the Freys. It was this Timothy who was deliberately going after them

You’re not only stealing my business but going after my woman, too? Let me make this clearthe Freys and Novex Technologies are now enemies! You’ve sure got some nerve, stealing business from me. I’ll show you who’s the king of Brindley!”

With that, Stanley stepped forward, intending to take Roxanne with him, but she forcefully slapped his hand away

Mr. Frey, let me reintroduce myself. I’m the CEO of Novex Technologies, Roxanne Reid,Roxanne said, raising her wine glass with a raised eyebrow

I accept your declaration of war against Novex carlier. I hope Frey Group won’t disappoint, she added

Chapter 20

From Kidnap to Collapse: I’ll Ruin Their Paradise

From Kidnap to Collapse: I’ll Ruin Their Paradise

Status: Ongoing

1. Promised forever

Roxanne Reid endures a brutal labor and finally delivers by C-section. Between pain and delirium she swears she will cherish this child for the rest of her life — the baby becomes the promise that will define her future.

2. The baby is gone

When she wakes from surgery, the baby is nowhere to be found. Panic spikes through her like a physical blow: all the relief and tenderness she expected after birth vanish the moment the cot is empty.

3. The betrayal revealed

Her husband Stanley Frey calmly informs her the baby has been given away — not to a charity, not to an adoption agency, but to Macy, Oliver’s fiancée. The news lands like betrayal: he made the decision without her consent.

4. Roxanne fights through pain to demand answers

Bruised and exhausted from two days of labor, Roxanne forces herself up and demands to know where their child is. Her voice trembles with pain and fury; this is a mother’s instinct colliding with the realization of being overruled.

5. Stanley’s cold justification

Stanley explains — almost mechanically — that the Frey family “owes” Macy because Oliver died, and giving her the baby is repayment or compensation. He frames it as kindness, family duty, and social obligation rather than theft.

6. Anger, disbelief, isolation

Roxanne is stunned and rage fills her. The rationalizations infuriate her: Macy “sacrificed” for the family, so she should have a child. Roxanne realizes she’s been isolated — even her husband now treats her like an obstacle, not a partner.

7. Flashback to their courtship

The chapter flashes back: Stanley once pursued Roxanne relentlessly for two years, learned her likes, and won her heart. She loved him enough to cut ties with her own family. Their marriage once seemed unbreakable — he had promised she was the one line he’d never cross.

8. The line crossed

Everything shifted after Oliver’s death and Macy’s arrival. The man who vowed constancy now crosses the line and makes decisions that betray Roxanne’s trust. What was once devotion turns into cold calculation under family pressure.

9. A desperate ultimatum

When Stanley prepares to rush to Macy’s side — “she’s a first-time mom, she needs help” — Roxanne, through pain, grabs his sleeve and threatens divorce if he doesn’t bring the baby back. It’s a raw, vulnerable demand born of love and righteous fury.

10. Threats, power, and a cliffhanger

Stanley sneers and seizes control of the phone; he belittles her concerns as romantic-novel dramatics and warns her not to push him. He reminds her, chillingly, that he’s capable of taking action against her. The chapter ends with Roxanne reeling from betrayal and the reader left on a tense cliff — will she fight him, or be crushed by the family machinery?
