Chapter 80 You Actually Hit Me Because of Catherine

Yvonne had been keeping a close eye on the online updates.

News that Catherine had been admitted to the hospital stirred a moment of anxiety in her, but it soon subsided.

After all, she hadn’t thrown the paint. She had nothing to fear.

Even if Rachel held her accountable, she could simply claim Catherine had provoked her first and push all the blame onto her. With smug satisfaction, she called Michelle to share the good

news.

Michelle, however, sounded uneasy. “Von, splashing paint on a pregnant woman can easily cause a miscarriage. You’d better stop this, or the Zimmerman family won’t let either of us off.

Yvonne replied dismissively, “It wasn’t even us who did it. There’s nothing to worry about. Besides, I was only voicing a complaint. The worst I’ll get is a little scolding. It’s no big deal.”

Hearing that, Michelle felt secretly pleased.

If the incident could cause Catherine to miscarry, that would be ideal. But judging by how quickly Jeremy rushed her to the hospital, it was highly likely the baby would be saved.

Regardless, Michelle still had another trick up her sleeve. Yet in her conversation with Yvonne, she voiced disapproval. “Von, that’s enough of a warning. If something really happens to Catherine, we’ll be the ones in serious trouble.”

“Fine. I’ll take the blame myself. It won’t drag you down.” Yvonne spoke offhandedly.

After she hung up on Michelle, her phone rang again.

It was Harry. Overjoyed, Yvonne picked up the call and asked, “Harry, why are you calling me?”

“Come home. We need to talk.” Harry’s voice was calm, betraying no hint of emotion.

Yvonne didn’t think much of it. She grabbed her bag and headed back to the Zimmerman

residence.

The moment she arrived, she could clearly sense something was off. Still, she forced a cheerful smile. “Harry, why did you ask me to come home?”

Only when Yvonne entered the living room did she realize it wasn’t just Harry. Her parents were there as well, along with Rachel and Nigel, all sitting solemnly with serious faces.

Yvonne’s smile gradually vanished. She looked at them nervously. “Why are you all here? Did something happen?”

Harry stepped forward and showed her a video. “Was this your doing?”

Yvonne glanced at the clip and nodded. “Well, you don’t like Catherine either. Her arrogance was unbearable, so I gave her a little lesson. It’s not like I did anything wrong.”

“Who told you to teach her a lesson?” Harry’s voice was low and menacing.

Yvonne flinched. She leaned closer to him, pointed at the slap mark on her own face, and stubbornly said, “Was I really wrong? I just couldn’t stand her attitude. She even hit me first!”

The next second, Harry’s hand struck her cheek with a loud, resounding slap.

Yvonne staggered back a few steps as a dull ringing filled her ears. Covering her cheek, she exclaimed in disbelief, “Harry, you actually hit me because of Catherine! How could you do this? Everything I did was for you!”

A flicker of agitation ran through Harry. “I never asked you to take it out on her. Catherine’s my wife, and she’s carrying my child. What right do you have to lay a hand on her?”

“You’re already divorced! Catherine doesn’t deserve to be your wife! She was a homewrecker to begin with!” Yvonne shouted hoarsely, and her eyes were red with anger.

Harry’s voice turned icy as he remarked, “Even so, it’s not your place to meddle.”

Just then, Tyson suddenly stood up and glared at Yvonne with a grim expression. He raised his hand and slapped her hard to the ground.

Still burning with rage, he lashed out with a kick. “What kind of wretch did I raise you to be? Go to the hospital right away and apologize to Cathy!”

Tears streamed from Yvonne’s eyes. She couldn’t fathom what was going on.

Catherine was just the other woman, yet the entire Zimmerman family’s elders adored her. Even her father, Tyson, sided with Catherine!

Sprawled on the floor, Yvonne clenched her fists, lifted her head in defiance through the pain, and spat out. “I’d rather die than apologize! I did nothing wrong!”

“You’ve gone too far! Don’t you realize how much this child means to the Zimmerman family? “Tyson shouted as he struck her again and again.

Meanwhile, Rachel and Nigel remained silent at the side.

When Rachel first heard of Catherine’s accident, she had nearly collapsed from fear. When she

learned Yvonne was the culprit, she wanted nothing more than to strangle her.

Yvonne was nothing but a fool, led around by that fake-innocent Michelle and used as a weapon without even realizing it.

When Tyson had beaten her enough, Rachel finally intervened. “That’s enough. Get Yvonne out of here. She’s no longer welcome in this family.”

Tyson put on a meek front, nodding along quickly to please. “Rachel, don’t worry. I’ll keep her in line from now on. She has grown unruly only because I’ve pampered her too much.”

Rachel sighed. “I’m not trying to put the blame on you, but I’m really furious. You know how much I’ve been waiting for the birth of our eldest grandson. When I heard the news, I was nearly scared to death.”

Tyson nodded repeatedly. “Rachel, rest assured. I understand completely.”

When his gaze shifted to Yvonne, his face darkened. “What are you waiting for? Get out of here!”

Bruised and disheveled, Yvonne picked herself up from the floor. In that moment, her heart filled with hatred for the Zimmerman family.
