Chapter 52 Harry’s Growing Interest in Catherine

“You said Catherine wanted to kill you. Why?”

In the past, it would have made sense since Catherine had been kidnapped. It was only natural

for her to lash out at Michelle.

But Catherine had dropped by the hospital when she was calm and clear-headed. That meant something had happened between her and Michelle that Harry didn’t know about.

Tears streamed down Michelle’s face. “Why do you think so? She’s just jealous because I’m with you.”

Harry stayed silent. If it were truly jealousy, Catherine wouldn’t have told Michelle she was giving him away.

Catherine’s disgusted expression made it obvious she wasn’t lying.

“You’re hiding something from me, aren’t you?” Harry’s voice turned cold.

Michelle clenched her fists, her expression wounded. “Harry, don’t you trust me?”

“It’s not that I don’t trust you. I just can’t understand why Catherine would want you dead. You need to give me a reason.” With that, Harry turned to leave.

As he walked away, Michelle bit her lip until it hurt, then let out a bitter laugh. “She thinks I was behind the kidnapping.”

Harry froze mid-step. “I see. Take care of yourself. I’m leaving.”

And just like that, he walked out without a trace of affection.

Once the door shut, Michelle clenched her fist and slammed it against the bed. The sudden movement sent a sharp pain through her wound, twisting her delicate features into a grimace.

She should have been glad that Harry and Catherine were divorced. Instead, his attitude made her feel uneasy.

Lately, he seemed more focused on Catherine.

In the past, even hearing Catherine’s name irritated him. Now, he was the one bringing her up.

When Michelle accused Catherine of trying to kill her, his first response wasn’t sympathy but suspicion, as if Michelle had done something wrong.

Could Harry be falling for Catherine?

Chapter 52 Harry’s Growing Interest in Catherine

2/2

The very thought made Michelle’s heart race. She would never allow that to happen.

After leaving the hospital, Catherine was in high spirits, and even her appetite had returned.

Work at the company was running smoothly. After securing the necessary licenses, the targeted drug plan moved into experimental testing.

Catherine had liquidated her real estate assets to fund the lab. However, clinical trials for targeted drugs were expensive, and she still needed outside investors.

By early June, Catherine had formally resigned from the Seraphis Group.

As she stood before the mirror, she noticed her abdomen had already begun to swell.

A knock sounded at her office door. Setting aside her coat, Catherine stepped out of the lounge to find Jeremy waiting, a large bouquet of roses cradled in his arms.

“Why are you here?” she asked in surprise.

“Of course, I had to be here for the opening day of your company. This bouquet is to celebrate your success,” Jeremy said, handing her the roses.

Water droplets clung to the fiery petals, their rich fragrance filling the room even from a

distance.

“Thank you for the flowers. If you’re free today, I’d love to treat you to dinner,” Catherine

said with a smile.

The startup process had been packed with procedures and endless preparations, leaving her little time to breathe.

Now that Jeremy had come, she wanted to take the chance to thank him properly for all his

support.

He agreed readily and let his gaze wander around her office.

It wasn’t large, but the space felt warm and inviting.

He turned back, fingertips resting lightly on her desk. “Then I won’t hold back,” he said with an easy cheer.

“You can choose the place,” Catherine replied as she set a vase on the desk and began arranging the roses.

Jeremy watched her for a moment, then tilted his head. “Then how about Kingswell Dining?”
