Chapter 50 Harry Felt Uneasy Watching Them So Close

“Fine. I must have been blind. You can go now.” Harry had nothing more to say to Rachel. He turned and walked away, leaving her behind.

Since his divorce from Catherine, not a single day of peace had come his way.

Everyone seemed determined to get on his nerves.

Rachel called after him, but Harry ignored her. As he passed a window, he caught sight of Jeremy carefully helping Catherine into a car.

Things had certainly moved quickly.

It seemed Catherine couldn’t wait to throw herself into Jeremy’s arms after the divorce.

Just as Harry was about to look away, Jeremy glanced up at the perfect moment. His eyes were glinting with mocking satisfaction.

He had provoked Harry repeatedly, all because of Catherine. Harry still couldn’t understand the strange kind of magic she seemed to possess.

Lost in thought, his gaze drifted toward Catherine without him even realizing it.

All he could see was her profile.

The tenderness in her eyes as they met Jeremy’s made Harry’s chest tighten.

He had to admit, though, that Catherine had grown even more beautiful since their divorce.

Lost in thought, Harry didn’t notice Jeremy swiftly closing the car door and blocking off his

view.

The car soon vanished from sight.

Just then, he felt a hand on his shoulder and heard Rachel’s voice. “What are you staring at? No matter how long you look, she’s not yours anymore.”

Harry scoffed and ignored her.

Meanwhile, across town, Catherine got out of Jeremy’s car and headed straight back to the hospital. She made her way to Michelle’s room.

The moment Michelle saw Catherine, a tightness gripped her chest. “What are you doing here?

“You came to see me last time. It’s only fair I return the visit,” Catherine replied, sliding a

chair closer to sit opposite her.

Michelle turned her face away. Her voice was sharp. “Aren’t you worried Harry will find out and come after you?”

Catherine smiled calmly. “And aren’t you worried he’ll discover that you hired someone to kill me? The person you bribed is in my hands.”

Michelle’s head snapped up. Her eyes flashed with anger. “Are you trying to threaten me?”

Catherine pulled a photo from her bag and tossed it onto Michelle’s bed. “Why not?” she said in a calm tone.

Michelle stared down at the photo of the four kidnappers. She gripped the blanket tightly, yet her voice remained defiant. “If you have evidence, why haven’t you turned it in? Are you afraid Harry won’t believe you?

“I suppose you’re right. When someone isn’t loved, even if they were to hang themselves, he’d just see it as a nuisance,” she sneered.

She expected this to provoke Catherine, but Catherine remained completely unfazed. “That’s where you’re wrong. I would never be foolish enough to kill myself over him. The reason I came to see you today…”

Catherine leaned in slowly, and her voice became a chilling whisper. “Consider the knife wound a warning. Next time, it’ll be your neck.

“Look at that, I stabbed you. And what can you do about it?”

Michelle’s fury flared. “Catherine, what are you so proud of?” she snapped.

“If it’s a game you want, I’ll play it to the end.” Catherine rose to her feet, and her voice regained its usual calm edge. Given Michelle’s malicious nature, even if she hadn’t shown up, she would have found another way to strike.

This was the perfect opportunity to warn her.

Michelle would have to think twice before making her next move, especially since Catherine still held the evidence that she had hired a killer.

With people like her, only a hardline approach worked.

“Oh, by the way, Harry and I are divorced. I’m giving you the man I never wanted,” Catherine said casually, as if it were nothing.

Michelle’s head shot up.

Catherine’s expression seemed genuine, yet her attitude was utterly repulsive.

Standing, Catherine smiled. “Don’t be so shocked. Trash belongs in the trash can.”

“You!” Michelle snapped. “Catherine, you’re clearly just jealous because Harry loves me!”

Catherine turned nonchalantly. “Jealous of what? I’ve already had my fun with him. He’s

nothing special. Only you would treat garbage like treasure.”

With that, she pushed open the hospital room door and came face to face with Harry.
