Chapter 1002 

is Before Sharon could speak, Rick’s reprimanding voice came, “Sharon, running away shameful! Come back immediately. Win or lose, the Kalen family must give an explanation 

to Jamie!” 

Sharon frowned. She had no patience for Rick’s self-righteousness and hung up without a 

word.

Meanwhile, at the Kalen residence, when Silas heard that Sharon was at the airport-and apparently trying to flee-his face lit with a look that said “I knew it.” 

“She sounded so confident before. I actually thought she had evidence. Turns out, when her lies fall apart, her plan is to run away. Dad, Rick, are you really going to let someone this morally corrupt stay in our family?” 

Richard and Rick exchanged glances, and for the first time, both saw the same flicker of doubt in each other’s eyes. 

Had Sharon really lied about Jamie? 

Noticing their hesitation, Scott spoke up. 

“The whole kidnapping story in Zachemaine was suspicious from the start. The fact that her 

hand was crippled afterward just makes it stranger. Jamie doesn’t have that kind of 

unchecked power there. I think Sharon made the whole thing up out of jealousy, because 

Jamie has been pursuing Victoria.”1 

Silas was quick to back him up. “Exactly. From the beginning, she’s been the only source for any of this. The official statement about the kidnapping came from her. Every detail of her so-called ordeal came from her mouth. Even Uriah, the one who treated her, is obviously on 

her side. It would have been easy for her to fabricate the entire story.”1″ 

Hearing Silas and Scott lay it out like that, Richard’s certainty began to waver.

Silas pressed the advantage. “If Sharon is really planning to run, our first priority is to stop her from leaving. Jamie is still waiting for an answer. 

Scott nodded in agreement. “Right. She still holds original shares in the company-we absolutely cannot let her get away.” 

As he spoke, an idea seemed to strike him. He picked up his phone and dialed immediately. 

“Spread the order: lock down all airports in Marcentine. No flights are to take off. Begin a full-scale search for a woman named Sharon McKinzie. The moment she’s found, detain 

her. If she resists… use whatever force is necessary.” 

“Scott!” Richard snapped, “Sharon is your biological sister. What are you doing?” 

Scott let out a short, humorless laugh. “I don’t have a sister who’s a pathological liar.” 

“Scott!” Richard’s anger finally erupted. “I will not allow you to speak about Sharon that way!” 

Scott’s handsome face remained impassive. “Dad, at this point, don’t tell me you still can’t see her true intentions? Why do you think she came back to our family? Why did she join the Kalen Group? She’s here for the inheritance.” 

Richard sighed. “Sharon is my daughter, too. She’s part of this family. She has every right to compete for what’s hers.” 

Silas let out a derisive snort. “Her? What would she even do with a share if she got one? And 

if she has the right to join Kalen Group, why has she been the one constantly standing in Victoria’s way?” 

He leaned forward, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial tone. “It’s obvious. She’s intimidated. She knows Victoria is the more capable one, and she’s terrified of being 

outshone.” 

Rick stayed quiet for a beat too long, the weight of the moment settling in the room. “It 

wasn’t Sharon who opposed Victoria joining the company. It was the board members who were loyal to Mom. I spoke with a few of them. They told me…

“Just spit it out, Rick,” Silas cut in, his impatience boiling over. “Victoria isn’t here. Stop with the suspense.” 

Rick’s eyes flickered toward their father before he delivered the final blow. “It was Mom. She left a very specific directive before she died. She said anyone could have a place at Kalen Group. Anyone… except for Victoria.” 1 

A stunned silence swallowed the room.
