Chapter 106 Does Gideon Like You 

“Let’s go,” Nancy said, choosing not to engage with Hillary. 

Hillary headed straight to the film set to shoot her next scenes, while Nancy and Gideon returned to Duran Corporation to have a detailed discussion with Christopher about their 

collaboration. 

In the end, the three of them agreed that the project was highly promising. 

“Ms. Moore, could we step outside for a moment?” Christopher asked politely. 

Nancy nodded and followed him out. Concern was written all over Christopher’s face. “Ms. Moore, the project is excellent, but negotiating with Gideon won’t be easy.” 

Nancy lowered her gaze, deep in thought. “You’re right. Gideon is a master negotiator. Whenever he leads a project, he always gains the upper hand.” 

“Exactly. Based on our discussion, we’re providing the design, and he’s supplying the raw materials. That means we deserve the larger share of at least 55%. But knowing Gideon, he’ll push for an even split.” 

Christopher sighed, a troubled look crossing his face. “Ms. Moore, since you’re more familiar with Gideon, why don’t you take the lead in the negotiation? I’ll back you up.” 

“Alright, but…” Nancy hesitated, suddenly remembering something important. Should she tell Ian that she was working with Gideon? 

“I need to make a call first,” she said, immediately reaching for her phone. 

Nancy’s chest tightened as she listened to the rhythmic ringing on the other end. 

After a few seconds, the call was cut off. 

Ian’s text arrived almost instantly after. “Nancy, I’m in a meeting. Is everything okay?” 

Seeing the message, Nancy let out a breath of relief. 

Perhaps it was better to go ahead with the negotiation first. If it didn’t work out, there would be no need to tell Ian at all. 

Nancy returned to the room with Christopher. As they sat across from Gideon, the atmosphere immediately grew tense and weighty. Christopher glanced at Nancy, but before she could even speak, Gideon slid a document across the table. 

“I drafted a rough contract while you were out,” Gideon said. “Take a look.”

Nancy and Christopher opened the file, reading it carefully, line by line. 

When they reached the profit–sharing section, both of them froze. 

“Is this a mistake?” Nancy asked, unable to hold back. 

“No. It’s not a mistake,” Gideon replied evenly. “What do you think?” 

He had proposed a 60 to 40 profit allocation. 

Christopher couldn’t resist asking, “Ms. Moore, is this real? Am I dreaming?” 

“You’re not dreaming,” Nancy said, giving him a quick glance. 

“Then, is this some kind of trick?” Christopher’s gaze flicked to Gideon, suspicion written all over his face. 

With Gideon’s reputation for cunning deals, it made no sense for him to hand them such a generous cut. 

It was only a 5% difference, but that meant tens of millions more in profit. 

Nancy, too, was lost in thought as her gaze lingered on Gideon. He lounged on the couch, tall and relaxed, as though everything were entirely in his control. 

When their eyes met, a faint, knowing smile curved his lips, his eyes dark and magnetic. It felt as if an electric current was passing through the air between them. 

“I see… 

Christopher murmured under his breath, “Does Mr. Fuller have feelings for you?” 

“You’re reading too much into it,” Nancy replied softly before turning to Gideon. “We can accept this, but… Are you really sure, Mr. Fuller?” 

“Absolutely,” Gideon said with a light chuckle, noticing their unease. “Nancy, relax. I’d never take advantage of you, no matter who else was involved.” 

“Alright, then. We’ll go with that for now.‘ 

Since it was getting late, they decided to continue the conversation another time. Nancy walked Gideon to the door. 

“See you next time,” Gideon said, giving her head a gentle pat before leaving. 

Nancy instinctively brushed her hair where his hand had been and watched his tall figure fade into the distance. After a moment, she turned back and took the elevator up to the office.

“Dad,” Nancy began carefully. “I’ve decided to take on a partner for the Duran plot.” 

“That’s your choice to make,” Ian replied without hesitation, his trust in her unwavering. 

Nancy felt a surge of warmth at his words, though a flicker of nervousness lingered. She took a breath and said, “The person I’ve chosen to partner with… is Gideon.”
