Chapter 105 Matchmaking 

Natalie’s hands trembled as she looked at Nancy and Hillary, who were standing at the doorway. 

Hillary strode forward, arms still crossed. “Looks like you’re the ones who should be leaving.” 

Winter clenched her teeth, then lifted her gaze to Gideon with a hopeful smile. “Gideon, we wanted to eat here, too. Why don’t we all eat together?” 

“They’re the ones who booked the private room, not me,” Gideon replied coldly. 

Left with no choice, Winter turned to Hillary. “Let’s just eat together! It’ll be my treat.” 

“I’m sorry, but if I had to sit at the same table as you, I’d probably choke,” Hillary shot back without hesitation. 

“You!” 

Winter was fuming. Still, she could only watch helplessly as the three of them went upstairs, stomping her foot in frustration. 

When she turned around, she noticed Natalie staring at them too, her expression unreadable. 

“Forget it. They only got lucky because Gideon showed up!” Winter’s eyes darkened with malice. “That damned Hillary is such a nuisance. Oh, right! She’s in your film crew, isn’t she? I can’t let this slide. I have to teach her a lesson!” 

Natalie snapped out of her daze, a wave of bitterness welling up inside her. 

At Winter’s words, she asked instinctively, “What are you planning to do?” 

“I’m going to teach Hillary a lesson, of course!” 

Upstairs, in the private room, Hillary finally got to enjoy the meal she had been dreaming of. 

“Oh my, the meat is absolutely delicious!” Hillary exclaimed. She was deeply touched, almost to the point of tears. 

Nancy felt a pang of sympathetic helplessness. “Have you only been eating vegetables while on set?” 

“Not exactly, but I’ve been so busy that I barely have time to eat. I just grab a few bites and move on,” Hillary explained. 

Nancy frowned and was about to respond when Hillary suddenly leaned in and whispered, “I

can’t believe Mr. Fuller peels shrimp himself!” 

Nancy glanced over and saw Gideon peeling shrimp with effortless, elegant movements, radiating a somewhat noble grace. He looked as stunning as a painting. 

“Should I call a waiter?” Nancy asked him.

“No. It’s fine.” Gideon finished peeling the last shrimp, wiped his hands, and pushed the plate 

toward Nancy. 

Nancy blinked, slightly surprised. 

Hillary grinned like a proud aunt, her eyes darting between Nancy and Gideon in amusement. 

“Aren’t you going to eat?” Nancy asked. 

Gideon’s deep, piercing eyes met hers, his voice softening subtly. “I don’t like shrimp.” 

Hillary chimed in, “Oh, so that’s it. But why didn’t you peel some for me?” 

Gideon remained calm. “As a celebrity, aren’t you supposed to maintain your figure?” 

“Hey, that’s just an excuse,” Hillary said, clearly unconvinced. 

Gideon didn’t bother explaining further. 

Nancy took a bite of the shrimp and found that it was fresh and tender. 

During their casual chat, Hillary seethed over Natalie. “That ungrateful Natalie… We shouldn’t have helped her back then. If you hadn’t rewritten her script, and if I hadn’t played that part for her, would she even be where she is today?” 

Nancy, however, remained calm. “Once this project is over, just stop working with her.” 

“I most certainly will! Nancy, have you ever thought about writing your own script? If you put as much effort into creating something original as you did rewriting hers, you’d be a gold–star screenwriter by now,” Hillary said, glancing expectantly at Nancy. 

“I’m too busy with work.” Nancy sighed. Sometimes, she wished she could be in two places at 

once. 

Gideon spoke up, his voice low. “Have you settled on the details of your project yet?” 

“More or less. The location is prime, so we’re planning a high–end residential complex.” 

“That’s similar to what we had in mind. Perhaps we could collaborate,” came Gideon’s reply. Nancy’s curiosity was piqued. “How would that work?”

Gideon spoke with the confidence of a seasoned professional. “Our two plots are right next to each other. If we both build high–end residential complexes, we’d just be competing, “But if one of us focuses on a residential complex and the other a high–end amusement facility, we can complement each other and benefit mutually.” 

Hillary’s eyes lit up. “That sounds like a fantastic idea!” 

Nancy nodded. “I agree. So, who do you think should take on the residential complex?” 

“Your land is in a more convenient location, so it makes sense for you to build the residential complex. I can handle the amusement facility,” Gideon replied, his reasoning as precise as 

ever. 

They continued to discuss the details and quickly reached an agreement. 

After dinner, Hillary went to settle the bill, only to be told it had already been paid for. As Gideon and Nancy walked up behind her, Gideon said, “It’s on me. Let’s go.” 

“Oh, you really didn’t have to! I said I’d treat you, and you even helped us to start with,” Hillary replied, stealing a glance at Nancy. 

Hillary quipped, “Nancy can get the next one!” 

Nancy was rendered speechless. Could Hillary be any more obvious about trying to play cupid?
