Chapter 22 I’m Not in the Mood Today

Harry was practically snarling. Catherine pried his hand away and looked calmly at his fully disguised face. “It’s fair, isn’t it?”

“It really is quite fair.” Harry’s gaze moved downward to Catherine’s belly. He slowly leaned down to whisper in her ear, “Does Jeremy know how I screwed you while you’re carrying his child?”

Catherine suddenly looked up, her eyes blazing. “Then does Michelle know how I rode you?”

She grabbed Harry’s collar, forcing him to lower his head. “Harry Zimmerman, you’re no better than me!”

In her memory, Harry had always been a refined, upstanding person who never said such vulgar things, even when he didn’t love her. They’d been civil to each other for two years.

She just hadn’t expected that when divorcing, they would exchange harsh words and tear apart each other’s dignity. Harry looked at Catherine as if seeing her for the first time. This prickly version of her was actually pretty damn exciting.

He suddenly didn’t want to divorce anymore. He couldn’t stand seeing Catherine run into Jeremy’s arms. He certainly couldn’t stand seeing them so happy.

He wanted to force Catherine to stay by his side, even if they were both miserable. He didn’t want to let Catherine go easily. She was the one who had betrayed him.

Harry removed Catherine’s hand and smoothed his wrinkled shirt. “I have some things to handle. Let’s talk about the divorce certificate in a few days.”

Catherine stepped forward to block Harry, saying in disbelief, “You’re the one who told me to come here for the divorce certificate. How can you back out and leave?”

“I’m in a bad mood and don’t want to get it anymore. Deal with it.” Harry’s tone was casual. His whole demeanor radiated a cocky, defiant attitude.

Catherine clenched her hands. “The divorce agreement is already signed. Is it necessary to keep dragging this out? Don’t you want to divorce me and marry Michelle as soon as possible?

“That’s not your concern.” Harry saw Catherine’s angry expression, and his lips curved up slightly. He finally felt some satisfaction.

“When we get the divorce certificate is up to me.”

So she wanted to dump him just to run straight into Jeremy’s arms? Not a chance! He’d make sure Jeremy stayed in the shadows forever, and that child would never be legitimate!

Catherine was furious, and she grabbed Harry’s hand, forcibly dragging him toward the courthouse. “No matter what, we’re getting this divorce certificate today!”

Harry easily shook her off with a light motion. “Let’s talk about it next time. I’m not in the mood to get divorced today.”

He strode forward and opened the car door to get in. Catherine pounded on the car door furiously, cursing. “Harry, you bastard!”

Harry removed his sunglasses and mask. The bruises and handprints on his face hadn’t faded yet, but this didn’t stop him from looking at Catherine mockingly. Her weak insults didn’t faze him at all.

“You already knew I was a bastard.” Harry touched the bruises on his face. “I’ll make Jeremy pay for these.”

Catherine tried to pull open the car door, but Harry instructed the driver to drive, leaving her behind.

“Harry, come back!” Catherine chased for a few steps, but her stomach began to cramp again. She clutched her belly and stopped. She could only watch the car disappear into the distance. Adrian saw Catherine crouch down in the rearview mirror and turned to Harry. “Mr. Zimmerman, she seems unwell.”

Harry’s expression was indifferent. “Don’t worry about her.’

Adrian hesitated. “But Mrs. Zimmerman has experienced a threatened miscarriage. If we don’t help her…”

“It would be better if the child was gone.” Harry chuckled softly, but he couldn’t help looking back in Catherine’s direction.

That was when he saw Jeremy pulling Catherine into his embrace. Harry’s eyes grew even colder.
