Chapter 90 The Lidells Seeking Out the Moores

Raine watched blankly as Nancy, lan, and Freya got into a car and left the restaurant.

Why was Nancy with lan and Freya?

After a moment, Raine came back to her senses and returned to the Lidell residence. She immediately informed Fergus of the situation before summoning Andrew and Regina.

Once they were all gathered in the living room, she told them everything she’d seen.

Andrew and Regina were both very shocked.

Mom

Fergus said immediately, Do you think Nancy is approaching Mr. Moore on purpose, and Dad? She knows that Mr. Moore has an adopted daughter, so maybe she’s trying to see if he’ll adopt her too?”

Regina sneered. How ridiculous. Does she think she’s worthy of being adopted into his family?”

Despite her words, she felt a flash of panic in her heart.

Fergus interjected, I think this is a great opportunity, Mom. There must be a reason for Moore Group to help us incessantly before, and it might be because Raine has caught Mr. and Mrs. Moore’s eyes!

They’re apparently unable to conceive children of their own, so they could only adopt an outstanding daughter. For all we know, their latest visit to Riversdale might be for the purpose of visiting Raine!”

Andrew found that line of reasoning rather strange. Is that possible?”

Why would Moore Group help us otherwise?Fergus asked in return.

Andrew fell into deep thought.

Fergus continued, Since Mr. Moore has his eye on Raine, why don’t we let Raine stay over at their house?”

Raine looked reluctantly at Andrew and Regina. ButBut I don’t want to leave Mom and Dad!

Regina was reluctant to part with Raine as well. That’s not a very good idea, is it?”

Fergus said persuasively, Even after going to stay with the Moores, Raine can still come back to visit us anytime, Mom. Moreover, she can even facilitate business deals between our families. This is the perfect opportunity!”

Andrew added, If that’s truly what Mr. Moore has in mind, then it’s certainly a wonderful opportunity. Are you willing to see this through, Raine?”

Raine looked at them, her eyes gradually becoming redrimmed, before declaring firmly, As long as I can help Mom and Dad, I’m willing to do anything, come hell or high water!”

Her response instantly moved Andrew and Regina.

Feeling gratified, Andrew said, You really are a great daughter, Raine. I’ll discuss this with the Moores tomorrow!”

Regina held onto Raine’s hand and said in a voice filled with worry and reluctance, Don’t force yourself to endure any grievances for our sake, Raine. If they don’t treat you well, just come back to us, alright?”

Don’t worry, Mom. I believe Mr. Moore isn’t a bad person. I’m sure he’ll teach me many things. I’ll study hard to repay you and Dad for your kindness,Raine said seriously.

We were truly blessed to have adopted you,Regina replied, feeling deeply moved.

At Duran Corporation the following day, Nancy, Ian, and Freya discussed an upcoming project with Christopher.

In the middle of their business discussion, there was a knock on the door.

Christopher’s assistant, Felix Holmes, entered the room and reported, Someone is looking for Mr. Moore, Mr. Wentworth.”

Ian frowned slightly at the news. He hadn’t made it known that he was here, so how could someone be looking for him?

Who is it?asked Christopher.

Felix replied, Someone from the Lindell family.”

Nancy exchanged glances with her parents at that.

Then, Ian asked, Did they mention why they were looking for me?”

They didn’t. All they said was that they simply had to meet you and Mrs. Moore.”

Tell them to wait.”

After Felix left, Christopher suggested, How about we just send them away, Mr. Moore?”

No, I’ll go take a look. Otherwise, they’ll show up again to cause trouble later on,Ian replied coldly.

Christopher nodded, then escorted Ian and Freya to the reception room.

Chapter 00 The Lidelle Sakking Out the Moores

When they arrived, the Lidell family was already gathered there.

Ian and Freya sat across from them, and their presence immediately dominated the room. The Lidells immediately felt a little ill at ease.

When Regina took in Freya’s dignified, gorgeous appearance and the ladylike air that seemed to surround her, she subconsciously pursed her lips.

If Raine could really become a daughter of the Moore family, she’d be as noble in status as Freya in the future. Then, she would no longer be scorned as one of the nouveau riche.
