“Raine has no shame at all. She can’t even play well and still thinks people are out to get her.” 

“I never realized she was so average yet baselessly overconfident.” 

“Raine, apologize!” 

The crown demanded that Raine apologize to Nancy. 

Raine looked cornered and alone on stage. Fergus clenched his fists. He rushed on stage 

without hesitation. 

Regina reached out, but she didn’t stop him. “Fergus, what are you doing?” 

Fergus‘ arrival drew looks of surprise. He didn’t slow down as he rushed toward Nancy. In fact, he went straight for her collar. 

A glint of malice flashed in Raine’s eyes. “Perfect timing, Fergus. Teach her a lesson,” she thought. 

Nancy’s gaze chilled. She was just about to make her move when something struck Fergus‘ hand. Blood welled on the back of it, and his face twisted in pain as he turned to glare at the 

perpetrator. 

A man stepped out from the shadows. He had a tailored suit, glasses, and a sharp demeanor. 

Nancy was mildly taken aback. She recognized him from a previous chance encounter. He was 

Gideon’s assistant, Corey Lawson. 

Corey’s voice was cold as ice. “Take him to the police.” 

Security reacted instantly, pinning Fergus to the ground and eventually dragging him away. 

Raine’s fists trembled. She inwardly remarked at how utterly useless he was. 

“You can leave, too, Raine. By the way, consider yourself blacklisted from every piano competition from now on,” Corey said. 

Raine’s knees gave out, and she collapsed to the floor. “No…” 

She was quickly escorted out by security. 

As a judge, Nancy handed out the awards. 

Just like that, the competition wrapped up without further incident.

Backstage, Nancy and Yvette walked together. Yvette muttered, “God, Raine just broke the record for shamelessness. Can she share half that confidence with me?” 

They stepped into the green room and found Andrew and Regina waiting. 

Yvette frowned. “What do you guys want?” 

Regina’s expression was tight. Her gaze on Nancy was filled with rage. “Nancy, I’d like a word with you.” 

Nancy offered her a cool glance. She knew refusing would only lead to more pestering, so she walked straight into her dressing room. Regina and Andrew followed after her immediately. 

Regina looked at Nancy, who was seated on the couch. Her posture was perfect, and she had a quiet air of refinement about her. Her features looked like they had been carved with great 

care. 

“You’re Nanette. Why didn’t you tell us?” Regina was confused. 

Nancy replied flatly, “Why should I?” 

Regina flushed with embarrassment. “Aren’t we family?” 

Nancy stared at them. “Have you ever treated me like family?” 

“Of course we have! It’s just that you’ve always been against Raine.” Regina’s tone hardened. ” Raine truly wants to treat you as her sister. If you’re Nanette, you should be guiding her. If she won the championship, wouldn’t that reflect well on you as her sister?” 

Regina spoke like it was a matter of fact. Nancy nearly burst out laughing. “You worship Raine like a treasure. I’m not blind, and I don’t need whatever reflected glory she has to offer.” 

“Why are you so set on targeting her?” Regina’s eyes dimmed. 

Nancy was tired of the conversation by this point. “She isn’t even worth my effort.” 

“You’re-” 

Before Regina could get her sentence out, Andrew cut her off with a smile. “Nancy, don’t mind your mother. She just doesn’t see the big picture! I know how amazing you are. 

“We haven’t thrown you a welcome party since you returned. When do you want to have it?”
