Chapter 164 Possibly Pregnant 

Sonya was efficient. Two days later, she took Curtis to the bank to get a loan for 50 million 

dollars. 

When the money was finally in his bank account, Curtis sighed in relief. 

Sonya said, “Let’s drink to this and celebrate. Your company will only get better in the future! I trust my judgment!” 

Curtis hugged her excitedly and replied, “Sonya, I’ll prove to you that you’ve made the right decision! I’ll prove myself!” 

He was going to show everyone that he hadn’t relied on Chloe for his success. He’d earned it through his own hard work! 

Sonya smiled. With the 50 million, she could kill two birds with one stone–solving her problem with Peter and helping Curtis keep his company afloat! 

Returning to the villa, Sonya opened a bottle of red wine to celebrate with Curtis. After a few rounds of drinks, Curtis was starting to get groggy. 

He muttered constantly, “Sonya, I’m going to show everyone who looked down on me t–that … t–that I’m better off without Chloe!” 

“Of course, you’re better with me around!” Sonya replied with a smile while pretending to drink her wine. She looked at Curtis, who was slowly falling into a slumber. His glass of wine slipped from his grasp, dropping onto the floor. 

She walked over to him with a smile, picked up the wine glass, and then touched his face. ” 

Curtis? Curtis!” 

Curtis remained fast asleep. 

Sonya happily picked up his phone and unlocked it with his thumbprint. She’d just logged into the bank app when her stomach suddenly churned, and she was overwhelmed with a wave of 

nausea. 

She quickly ran to the bathroom and hurled over the sink. She threw up until there was nothing left in her stomach. Then, she rinsed her mouth and looked at herself in the mirror, smiling satisfactorily while touching her abdomen slowly. 

Her menstrual cycle was usually punctual. She should’ve gotten her period a week ago, but it was late. And now that she was suddenly throwing up, it seemed like her wishes had finally 

come true! 

“Curtis, if I’m pregnant with your baby, surely you’ll marry me as soon as possible, right? I’m

sure you’ll forgive me for everything I’ve done!” she muttered to herself. 

If she were truly pregnant, the child would be her strongest bet. She’d lost her job and her reputation. Even her friends had distanced themselves from her as if she were the plague. 

She had to bag Curtis no matter what it took.

Chloe was sitting in front of the computer, using the tools before her to restore the video she’d gotten from the military. The video was slowly getting clearer pixel by pixel. 

In the video, she saw a figure walking over. Then a moment later, there was a flicker of light. If that flicker was from a lighter, perhaps that person really had been smoking. 

The cameras mounted on military drones were all high–definition with a fine resolution. If she could completely restore the video, perhaps she could finally see who that person was. 

Chloe worked until the evening when her phone rang. 

“How’s it going? Should I come and pick you up?” Brian asked. 

“No, it’s fine. I’m almost done for the day. I’ll continue tomorrow,” Chloe replied. “I’ll drive back on my own. It’ll be more troublesome for you if you come and pick me up.” 

“Okay. I’ll wait for you in the apartment, then,” Brian said. 

Okay.” Chloe ended the call and packed up before heading back home. 

On the way, she received a call from Lena. “There’s something I need to tell you.” 

Lena told her about how Ethan had found out about the deal between Peter and Sonya. 

“Sonya got what she deserved. She stole your identity as Curtis‘ savior, yet she’s being blackmailed for it right now! She deserves it! Ethan said he’s planning something fun!” 

Although Lena wasn’t sure what Ethan meant by that, knowing him, she knew that Sonya and 

Curtis had bad times ahead for them. 

“This isn’t the only evil thing Sonya has done.” Chloe gripped the driving wheel a little tighter. 

If she restored the video and found out that Sonya was the one who’d lit the lighter, she would 

never let that woman off the hook! 

“What did she do this time?” Lena asked. 

“I’m still looking into it. I need to be sure,” Chloe said. After all, all the evidence was pointing toward Sonya, but it was still speculation. There was no definitive proof yet. 

As Chloe spoke on the phone, she arrived at the gates of the luxury apartment. When she

parked and got out of the car, she noticed Willow standing in the distance. She couldn’t help but narrow her gaze. 

Willow had also seen Chloe. At first, she was stunned, but then she walked over. 

Chloe said to Lena, “I need to go. We’ll talk soon.” 

“Sure.” Lena ended the call. 

Chloe put her phone away and took off her earbuds before walking over to Willow, her gaze icy. “What do you want?” 

“I’m looking for Brian. But since you’re here, there are some things I’d like to say to you.” Willow looked at Chloe smugly. 

“I have nothing to say to you,” Chloe said before walking past her. 

Willo gritted her teeth and ran over to Chloe once more, blocking her path. “Chloe, you must be feeling smug right now, thinking you’re finally with Brian. What if he’s done something wrong to hurt you? Are you still planning to be with him?” 

Chloe looked at Willow icily. “That’s for him to tell me, not you.” 

Willow laughed at that. “Do you think he would ever tell you if he’s done something wrong? A person like him could hide it from you for the rest of his life if he wanted to!” 

Chloe ignored Willow and continued walking when she yelled from behind, “Chloe, do you really think you can still be with him if he’s wronged you? Let me tell you—” 

Before Willow could finish her sentence, a voice interrupted her. “I’d also like to know what 

I’ve done to hurt Chloe.” 

Willow stiffened. It was Brian!
