Chapter 177

The atmosphere within the room grew even colder.

Mark, being the loyal friend that he was, continued to give out his advice before eventually stammering and falling silent. The icy atmosphere made him realize that he would be done for if he kept on talking.

He glanced at Simon beside him, as if urging Simon to say something.

A man’s hoarse voice eventually broke the silence. Her husband returned. It’s been so long since they met each other. Do you think they would reignite their feelings for each other tonight?”

It was New Year’s soon, making it freezing cold outside.

The private room was kept warm by the heater, but both Simon and Mark still felt sweat dripping down their backs.

No one could answer Sebastian’s question, never expecting him to suddenly ask a question like

that.

Mark had thought that Sebastian had gone insane. The man in front of him resembled a dejected concubine. However, it was none other than Sebastian Grant, a member of the Grant family, the richest family in Slate City.

Had Sebastian not gone abroad to study in Amaran and given up on his position as heir to the family, he would be the one running Grant Group by now.

His father was the business tycoon Nicholas Grant, and his maternal grandfather was Lewis Bond, a prestigious veteran commander.

And yet, a man of such stature was now speaking in a hoarse and resentful tone, asking a question that left all of his closest friends utterly stunned.

Simon swept the room with a cold glare, signaling for all the hostesses to leave.

Sebastian’s fellow friends would never spill about his secrets, but outsiders like the hostesses would be a risk to have around.

Mark was in disbelief. Sebastian?”

He cursed at Valeria in his heart, calling her an evil woman.

He had met her once. He could not believe that the innocent and purelooking woman would

turn out to be so vile.

Mark could not even imagine just what kind of despicable tricks she had used to bring

Sebastian into such a state.

Sebastian lit up a cigarette and held it between his fingers. He brought it to his lips and suddenly decided not to smoke it as if remembering something.

Sebastian held himself back from smoking.

He did not drink the glass of wine Simon handed him either.

Sebastian rubbed his own chin. He did not have any stubble as he was perfectly groomed.

He then picked up his coat and grabbed the keys to his Volkswagen from the table before leaving the private room.

Mark was left frozen in place. Wait, so that Volkswagen is Sebastian’s? It was parked in the VIP parking spot right next to my sports car. I thought it belonged to some other customer, so I had security move it away.”

He had no idea where the car had even been moved to.

Simon was just as shocked. He realized that Sebastian had only been driving cars that were much more lowprofile recently.

Mark quickly pulled out his phone and made a call. Hurry up and move that black Volkswagen back to the VIP parking now!”

The person on the other end mumbled something about requiring more time to move the car back in place.

Mark hung up and said, This is bad. I should just give Sebastian a ride instead.”

Simon grabbed his arm and warned, Don’t bother him.”

Is he going to look for Valeria?”

Simon nodded in response. It was very obvious after all.

Mark turned to the others in the private room and lowered his voice. Is Sebastian possessed or something? This isn’t the Sebastian that I know. This is way too scary.

Something must have gotten into him.”

He could not even bring himself to imagine the situation. Sebastian resembled that of a neglected concubine, staring out into the open longingly as he waited for his beloved to come back home, only to be abandoned for someone else.

Mark could not bring himself to witness Sebastian’s downfall. He immediately pulled out his phone and called several numbers. Hey, do any of you know any priests or whatever? My

friend’s possessed. He needs to be exorcised as soon as possible!”

Simon had wanted to stop Mark, but even he wondered whether Sebastian was actually possessed.

It was the only explanation for Sebastian’s recent actions, allowing himself to be the other man. Simon could not understand why Sebastian would do so otherwise.

Mark, using his wide connections, eventually found the contact of a renowned priest.

It was said that the priest rarely agreed to accepting any work, and Mark had to spend a fortune to get him to agree to exorcise Sebastian.
