Chapter 77 

Valerie quickly used the interruption to escape Lucius‘ grip. She smoothed out her tousled hair before opening the door, nearly bumping into Sonia, who was about to walk in. 

Sonia was in disbelief as she watched Valerie leave Lucius‘ room. She could see the entirety of the room from the doorway. 

Valerie’s bodycon dress was ripped to shreds and scattered on the floor. She could see how messy Valerie’s hair was and how her lipstick had been smeared, too. Valerie had even changed 

into different clothes. 

The bed was a mess, and there was even a hint of longing lingering in Lucius‘ eyes—Lucius, 

who was known to be impenetrable when it came to desire. 

As a grown woman, Sonia could naturally deduce what had transpired between Lucius and 

Valerie. 

Valerie patted her on the shoulder before she left, whispering, “A word of advice–know your place, and don’t step out of line. Otherwise, I can’t promise you’ll be able to handle the 

consequences.” 

She then smiled affectionately at Sonia before leaving. 

Sonia paid Valerie’s warning no heed at all, nor did she know that Valerie had left her a little ” present” when she’d tapped on Sonia’s shoulder earlier. 

Sonia was confused as to when Valerie and Lucius got together. Weren’t they acquaintances at best? 

“Mr. White, did you and Ms. Collins…” 

Lucius didn’t bother hiding his disgust toward Sonia as he spoke to her. He was so sexually frustrated right now that his mood had gone sour. “All you’re getting from me is a chance to be on this ship, Ms. Woodward. You have no right to interfere in my private affairs.” 

Lucius had kicked Sonía out of the room without giving her so much as a chance to step in. By then, her jealousy had hit a breaking point after suffering all these hits to her pride. 

Sonia blamed that jinx Valerie for everything. Sonia’s life had been terrible ever since she entered it. What Sonia would give to rip Valerie to shreds for all the grievances she’d suffered all this time. 

Back in the grand banquet hall, the guests on the cruise continued chattering. A large LED screen had been set up in the middle of the hall, and music was currently playing. 

A devious thought took root in Sonia’s mind at that moment.

She took out a video clip she’d secretly obtained while no one was watching. It contained footage of Valerie smashing The Glasshouse’s facilities, followed by the police arresting her for disruptive behavior. 

Sonia was a very skilled hacker, so she was able to gain access and control of the cruise ship’s security system with ease. All she needed to do was project this video on the LED screen, and Valerie’s reputation would be ruined. 

Even if the authorities investigated the matter, Sonia would still be able to extricate all evidence of her involvement with her hacking skills afterward. 

Sonia was a woman of her word. She obtained the screen remote control, about to release Valerie’s arrest footage on the LED screen. 

But all of a sudden, Sonia’s phone lagged. It went on for nearly half a minute. 

When the lag stopped, the video on Sonia’s phone was gone, making her panic. Why was such a weird thing happening to her phone? She’d bought the latest model and even installed an antivirus and protection software that no one would be able to crack. 

The sound of commotion suddenly rang out in the distance. 

Sonia turned to look at the source of the noise, confused, and found that a video was playing on the LED screen, its contents intense. 

It depicted the once–famous movie star Marnie Whitmore assaulting a saleswoman, Marceline, in a jewelry store, all because Marceline’s phone wouldn’t stop ringing. 

The footage then zoomed in on Marceline’s phone—the background photo was of her embracing another man. 

Skyler might not be from a wealthy or influential background, but he was still well known in Windmere. The guests gasped in shock and awe as they watched Marnie attack Skyler’s 

mistress. 

Sonia never would’ve expected that she’d end up becoming the laughingstock of the night when she’d intended Valerie to take on that role in the first place. 

She frantically tried to stop the video of her parents‘ scandalous affairs from playing onscreen, but her phone wouldn’t respond. It seemed to have been hacked.
