Loving DAD 964

Chapter 964

Thomas’s question was bordering on being intrusive, considering their relationship.

But Sharon still answered honestly. “Not for now.”

“And later?”

“Later?” She thought for a moment, then smiled faintly. “Who can really say what the future holds?”

Thomas pressed further. “Would you ever remarry Carter for Theo’s sake?”

This time, Sharon didn’t hesitate. She shook her head instinctively. “No.”

Outside the door, Carter, who had just raised his hand to knock, froze mid-motion.

Inside, Thomas’s voice sounded again. “You were together for five years. You share a child. Can you really let that go?”

Sharon’s voice followed quickly, firm and clear.

“Staying together reluctantly for Theo’s sake-that would be the greatest injustice. Not only to the Theo, but also to myself and to

the marriage.

“Back then, I tolerated so much because of Theo. I believed I was sacrificing and giving everything for that family. But in truth,

neither Theo nor Carter needed my kind of sacrifice.

“I was the only one feeling as if I bore some great grievance… That, too, is a kind of emotional blackmail, isn’t it?

“Now, my life feels good. Yes, I lost five years, but at least I didn’t lose everything.”

Thomas asked, “Then… do you still love Carter?”

Her answer came without pause. “No. Not anymore.”

Inside the ward, Thomas cast a subtle glance at the door. His lips curved with the faintest trace of a smile. 1

Outside, Carter did not step in. He turned and walked away.

For some reason, he no longer knew how to face Sharon.

Even though he had long suspected she had let him go, hearing her say it out loud struck him like a hammer to the chest.

Her words echoed in his head again and again-Not anymore.

Carter gave a bitter smile. He deserved this.

Suddenly, he understood Theo’s inner conflict. He wanted Sharon to be as she once was, yet part of him knew-this life she lived

now might truly be what was best for her.

Chapter 964

If he had never seen the current version of Sharon, would he still be so desperate to reconcile with her? 1

The underground chamber was dim and stifling.

Lex curled in the corner, half-conscious. His body was wasted, covered in grotesque wounds.

Whip marks, burns, precise cuts from blades-some injuries had already festered and rotted.

The entire basement reeked of decay and blood.

Never in his life had Lex been so degraded and stripped of dignity.

It was as if he had been cast into the lowest hell.

Julliard didn’t come every day, but whenever he did, he brought new torments. He always ensured Lex’s suffering bordered on death, yet never reached release.

And still, Lex endured.

As long as he could hold out until rescue, no matter how grave his injuries, his elder brother and grandfather would heal him.

Once he got out…

A cold gleam flickered beneath his disheveled fringe.

He would make Julliard’s life a fate worse than death.

And Sharon-

Yes, her too!

If not for her, he would never have fallen so low.

Lex bitterly regretted stopping Jamie from torturing her when he had the chance.

He should have let Jamie ruin her face.

If Sharon were disfigured, would Julliard still love her then? Would any of the men around her dare to stay by her side?

As hatred twisted through him, Lex plotted revenge-how to destroy Julliard, how to break Sharon completely. 3

At that moment, the electronic lock at the door beeped.

The door creaked open.

Julliard had come again.

Lex shut his eyes, forcing down the hatred clawing at his bones.
