Chapter 955
Thomas laughed and answered, “All right.”
A thought struck Sharon, and she suddenly asked, “Thomas, has your insomnia… been cured?”
Thomas fell silent for a moment before replying, “Not yet.”
Her long lashes lowered, casting a faint shadow. “I’ll ask Uriah to find a way to treat it for you. As for music therapy… I’m afraid I can’t help you anymore.”
Thomas’s fingers tightened slightly, though his smile remained calm, as if nothing touched him.
“It doesn’t matter. Wendy recorded every piece you played. Listening to those is the same.”
He said it lightly, but recordings could never compare to Sharon’s playing in person.
From now on… would he truly never hear her violin again? 1
The thought churned inside him, stirring a violence he could barely restrain.
Wendy, with far less self–control than Thomas, couldn’t hide the hatred flaring in her eyes.
“Jamie’s luck is seriously off the charts–twice gravely wounded, and he still didn’t die!”
Thomas’s response was calm, almost indifferent.
“If he died so easily, wouldn’t that be letting him off too lightly? Better to treat these two injuries as interest collected for now.” 1
To Wendy, Thomas was already one of her own. His words didn’t strike her as odd–in fact, she agreed wholeheartedly.
“You’re right. To die just like that would be far too cheap for him. Thomas, tell me, how can we make Jamie live a life worse than death?”
Thomas appeared to think for a few seconds, then said, “Take away what he cherishes most. Leave him with a broken family, betrayed by those he trusts, alive but wishing he were dead.”
Wendy’s eyes gleamed with thought.
“Take away what he values most…”
Three days later, John sent Wendy the complete dossier on the Walton family.
He couldn’t help voicing his concern. “Wendy, what do you need all this for? Jamie may be arrogant,

cold–blooded, and ruthless, but he’s not stupid. Don’t confront him head–on.”
Even John himself lacked the power to challenge Jamie outright. For now, he too had no choice but to
endure in silence.
Though he hated Jamie with every fiber of his being, patience was the only option.
Wendy leafed through the documents while speaking into the phone.
“I know. Don’t worry, I won’t do anything reckless. I just want to understand the Walton family’s situation. He’s our enemy, but also one of the Kalen family’s most important partners. I have to know him as well as I know myself.
“Once Sharon enters Kalen Group, I’ll become her assistant. I may not understand business, but at the very least, I need to know the people involved. I don’t want to drag her down.”
Her reasoning reassured John.
“If you come up with a plan, let me know. If there’s any way I can help, I will.”
Wendy acknowledged with a soft hum, then added, “By the way, send me the Malcolm family’s file too. I need to keep an eye on Victoria’s two simps.”
“Got it.”
After hanging up, Wendy stared at a page before her, her gaze deepening.
She murmured under her breath, “Lesley Walton… Jamie’s half–brother. He should have been the heir to the Walton family, but after a car accident left him paralyzed, he withdrew from the succession struggle…”
Her lips curved faintly as she closed the file.
In a hospital ward in Tesrainea, Johanna finally exhaled in relief when Jamie was pulled back from the brink once again.
She hesitated, but in the end, she couldn’t stop herself from sending a message to Thomas,
Johanna: [Thomas, my brother said you tried to kill him. Is it true?]
