Chapter 64 

“You don’t have the right to talk about him,” Jessica snapped. 

“Are you two together?” Derrick demanded. 

He felt as if a thousand daggers were stabbing his heart, sending a piercing, bone–deep pain through him. 

Jessica said nothing in response. She turned and walked toward the car parked a short distance 

away. 

Zachary watched her through the rearview mirror. 

“Jess!” Derrick called after her. “Do you even know who Zachary is? Do you really think you could ever enter his world? You and his child got hurt, didn’t you? What’s the point of clinging to him? When he gets bored, you’ll end up with nothing!” 

Jessica stopped and stared at the car ahead. 

Inside, Zachary’s eyes met hers through the window. It was as if their gazes had already connected. 

He didn’t step out. This was something she had to end on her own terms. Only then could he feel at ease. 

She released her suitcase handle and walked toward Derrick. 

Jessica slapped his already bruised face. 

“Mr. Quinton, that slap is for you. Next time we meet, don’t call me Jess. My husband doesn’t like it. Call me by my name. Otherwise, I won’t hesitate to release those dirty videos of you and Celine.” 

Derrick froze in place. 

Jessica had completely given up on him. 

“And if you still consider yourself a man, don’t waste Celine. She’s carrying your child, the Quinton family’s bloodline. If the Leroy and Quinton families‘ alliance fails, your family’s business could end with you. Stop wasting time on me. Think about your child and family. Don’t make me look down on you any more than I already do.” 

She left the words hanging in the air and walked away without looking back. 

Zachary’s throat bobbed as he stepped out and opened the car door, lifting the trunk’s hood. He took Jessica’s suitcase and placed it inside the trunk before closing the hood. Then, he held

her hand and led her toward the car. 

He didn’t rush to get in. He rested a hand on the roof, adjusted his glasses, and looked at 

Derrick in the distance. 

Derrick felt a chill run through him, and his legs went weak. Even through the glasses, he could feel the pressure that Zachary exuded. No one could fake that kind of presence. 

Zachary curled his lips in a disdainful smile as he slid into the car. 

The moment he sat down next to her, warmth surrounded Jessica. 

She curled into Zachary’s chest and quietly cried. 

Zachary held her tightly, stroking her hair.

Derrick’s feet felt like they were weighed down with lead, keeping him rooted in place as he stared blankly at Zachary, taking her away right before his eyes. 

Zachary wasn’t a man Derrick could challenge. He was one of Avelridge’s top tycoons, a self- made man who had risen through the ranks in the fashion industry in just two years to become a leading figure. 

People from every industry rushed to collaborate with him, but he remained cold and ruthless. 

Working with him was like negotiating with the devil. 

He was relentless, spending every day working around the clock at the office. Everyone admired him, and even his family members constantly measured themselves against him. 

Derrick had seen Zachary once, on the day Celine’s father got promoted. He had stood by the window, quietly observing the celebration. 

Zachary seemed calm and untouchable, but his eyes were cold and empty. Even a single glance from him felt controlling, forcing people to obey without question. Many didn’t even dare to look directly at him. 

Derrick couldn’t understand how Zachary could have fallen for Jessica. Were they really together? 

“I don’t believe it, Jess. Wait for me!” Derrick said, clenching his fists tightly. 

Derrick found it ridiculous that Zachary might truly care for her. She had no family ties and no power in the business world. 

In his mind, the only reason Zachary would be with her was that she had been bought. Everything he witnessed seemed like a performance, staged just for him to see. 

If he became strong enough to withstand his family’s criticism or gained greater wealth, he could win her over. 

Chapter 64 

Derrick believed that Zachary had no real feelings for Jessica. And with their five years of shared history, Derrick was sure he had the upper hand.
