Chapter 37 Rebecca Regretted

Exactly, and they only have ordinary degrees. Can you believe it? How do people like that even get into our company?”

Those people from Duran Corporation came here and have done nothing, yet they still get to enjoy the benefits? It’s infuriating.”

Rebecca’s face darkened.

Since joining Blossom Corporation, she had been working late every night, determined to make a strong impression.

Yet here they were, talking about her behind her back.

After years in management, Rebecca wasn’t about to tolerate such disrespect. She pushed the door open and stepped inside.

The employees, who had been gossiping, froze in surprise at her sudden appearance. But soon, their gazes were full of contempt. They didn’t think they had said anything wrong.

Their smug expressions only fueled Rebecca’s anger. “Don’t you think what you said about us was

out of line?”

Out of line? You should take a good look at yourselves, one female employee sneered. “With your degrees, the best job you’d land here is janitor!”

The group burst into laughter.

Rebecca’s face burned with humiliation, but before she could speak, another person chimed in. Rebecca, you don’t actually think that just because you were assistant manager at Duran, you can throw your weight around here, do you?

You got kicked out of Duran and then stabbed them in the back to come here. Nobody respects people like you.”

Even though their company competed with Duran, they still saw a turncoat like Rebecca as the lowest of the low.

You bitches!Rebecca snapped, losing her composure. I was personally invited by Ms. Seabourne! I’m giving you one chance to apologize, or I’ll tell her every word you just said.”

The group exchanged glances, fighting to hold back their laughter.

Rebecca and her colleagues stormed over and banged on the office door.

Winter’s secretary stepped in to block them. Ms. Seabourne isn’t here. You can tell me what you need ”

Rebecca wasted no time repeating the insults they had just endured.

She expected the secretary to side with her, but to her shock, the secretary replied coolly, You do realize fighting is against company policy, right? Your monthly base salaries will be cut in half.”

Chapter 37 Rebecca Regretted

2/2

Rebecca and the others were stunned. What? Why? We’re the victims here!”

Exactly! We need to see Ms. Seabourne!someone said.

The secretary’s tone stayed cold. Ms. Seabourne is busy. She doesn’t have time to see you.”

With that, she turned and went back to her desk.

Rebecca stood her ground while the others fumed in frustration.

Rebecca, what are we supposed to do? Ms. Seabourne, isn’t here, so no one will stand up for us.”

Rebecca’s hand curled into a fist.

One of them snapped, We’ll tell Ms. Seabourne when she gets back! She’ll fire that secretary for

sure!”

Rebecca shot back, And why would she fire her own secretary for our sake?”

Everyone fell silent.

Rebecca exhaled slowly. Let’s just get back to work.”

She returned to her desk, though her mind was still in turmoil.

The other employees were cold and aloof, even though they were welleducated and had excellent records.

This left Rebecca and her group feeling deeply pressured.

Rebecca brought up the situation to Raine, and she replied, There’s nothing I can do. Winter’s in a terrible mood. Rebecca, you and your team just aren’t working hard enough. How could Nancy’s performance possibly be better than yours?”

But they were working hard relentlessly, and still, it wasn’t enough.

Rebecca felt her heart sink.

After work, the group gathered once more and talked about what happened at the company.

I can’t keep doing this much longer. The stress is unbearable, one said.

Same here, another person agreed. They’re so arrogant. They treat us like we’re nothing just because they’ve got better degrees.”

They couldn’t help but miss Duran Corporation, where the culture had been so much nicer.

The others looked at Rebecca with pleading eyes. Rebecca, you’re the one who brought us here. Do you have a plan?”

Rebecca tightened her grip on her cup. At this point, the only option might be to return to Duran. I never thought Blossom Corporation would turn out like this.”
