Fergus frowned in displeasure.

Nancy raised an eyebrow. Andrew was planning to host a family recognition banquet. Clearly, what Nancy had was very important to them.

She feigned consideration. “I’ll have to think it over. Thank you for the kind invitation.”

With that, she turned and walked away, leaving Andrew calling after her, “Nancy, you have to come! I promise it will be a wonderful event for you.”

Seeing Raine on the verge of tears, Regina felt a pang of sympathy and grabbed Andrew’s

“Darling, isn’t this all moving a bit too fast?”

arm

Andrew glanced at Raine before pulling Regina aside. “Don’t you know what Mom gave Nancy?”

“What?”

“The company’s shares.” Andrew’s expression darkened. “So far, we’ve only held a portion of the shares.

Most of the shares still belong to Mom. It’s obvious that she wants only a true member of the Lidell family to have them.

“And Mom is very fond of Nancy. Through her, we might be able to secure the rest of the shares!”

Regina sighed. “I understand. It’s just a pity for Raine.”

Andrew dismissed the thought with a sharp glance. “She was lucky to become part of the Lidells, given she’s the housekeeper’s daughter. Nancy is our biological daughter. If you want to keep living in luxury, you need to stay on good terms with her.”

“Fine, I know,” Regina said.

“She’s my daughter, too. Of course, I’ll be good to her.” But she was already thinking about how to comfort Raine, who had never been treated fairly.

For the next few daysNancy was so busy at work that she barely had time to go home.

Thenone afternoon, she noticed the sales for Duran Skincare climbing rapidly. She let out a relieved breath. The moment had finally arrived.

Nancy called her assistant over. “Everyone’s been working incredibly hard lately. I want to treat the team to a relaxing getaway. We’re heading to Summit Grove Retreat. Pack your bags. We’re leaving soon.”

Her assistant nodded and hurried off to share the news.

When the staff heard the announcement, they were all stunned.

“Are we really going to Summit Grove Retreat?”

“Oh my gosh, my aunt stayed there onceIt costs 1,500 dollars just for one night! And there are so many of us…”

Everyone was doubtful, but they set off anyway. To their surprise, they actually arrived at the entrance of Summit Grove Retreat.

“Oh my God! Ms. Moore, won’t the company be furious when they see the expense report?”

The group was excited but also a little nervous.

Grinning, Nancy replied, “Don’t worry about it. Let’s go.”

As they entered, another car arrived, and about a dozen people stepped out. Nancy instantly recognized the leaders, Winter and Raine, as well as Rebecca

and the others.

Raine turned to Winter. “I can’t believe you invited me along. Thank you so much.”

Winter replied flatly, her tone a bit perfunctory, “It’s just a small resort. I’ve heard it was nice, but I’ve never been here before. You’re my only friend here, so I have to invite you.”

Raine noticed the lack of enthusiasm, but she remained excited.

After all, the Lidells and the Seabournes weren’t in the same league.

Befriending someone as influential as Winter would definitely boost her standing in their social circle.

Raine was about to respond when she noticed a group gathering across the way.

“Nancy?” She frowned. Then it but her “Could they be here for a team–building event too?“.

“What are we supposed to do, Raine? We’re not seriously going to have to share our team–building with them, are we? Rebecca sald with a hint of disgust in her voice

Winter scoffed “Those people aren’t even worthy of being in the same space as us *

Natury simply glanced at them and then looked away. When she reached the extras, the security guard stopped her

“I’m sorry, but the resort has been fully booked for tonight,” the gund revealed

“Welte the ones who made the booking.” Nancy replied calmly

“The reservation is under Ms. Seabourne Are you Ms Seabourne?” the guard asked
