Chapter 937
Murderous intent flickered in Xavier’s eyes.
He pressed again, “Then why was your phone found there?”
Lex replied evenly, “Not long ago, I lost my phone. I’ve no idea why it turned up in that place.”
Clever men rose to power. For Lex to sit as head of the family, he was naturally shrewd. Not only Xavier- even seasoned police interrogators would find his answers watertight. 1
Xavier’s lips curved into a razor-thin smile.
“Interesting. Because Thomas told me you were with Jamie just now.”
Lex’s expression didn’t flicker.
“Before I lost my phone, I did see Jamie. I even took a call from Thomas. But what has that to do with you?”
“Sharon is missing,” Xavier said icily, “and she’s suspected of being abducted by Jamie. You were with him. That makes you a
likely accomplice.’
Lex arched a brow, voice edged with mockery.
“Suspected? You said it yourself-suspected. Which means you have no proof she was taken by Jamie. You don’t even know who abducted her, yet you drag me here to stand accused?”
A cold laugh escaped him.
“Xavier, I’m not one of your subordinates to order around. For Sharon’s sake and out of respect for my father, I allowed you to
search me. That’s more courtesy than you deserve.”
His gaze hardened as he looked at the men blocking his path.
“Move. Stop me again, and don’t blame me for what happens next.”
Xavier knew men like Lex had iron nerves. Words alone would never pry him open.
He chuckled softly.
“Lex, perhaps you’ve forgotten whose territory you stand on.” His eyes narrowed. “So, will you cooperate on your own, or shall I make you?”
Lex’s face darkened to a stormy gray.
Everywhere he went, power bent to him. Yet now, he found himself held in place like a criminal.
He had done nothing, yet the stench of guilt clung to him.
If he had known it would come to this, he would never have listened to Jamie.
But here, on someone else’s territory, he had no choice but to yield.
He shot Xavier a cold, venomous glance, then stepped forward.
Xavier separated Lex from his assistant, questioning them one by one.
But Lex’s mouth was sealed tight, revealing nothing. His assistant and bodyguards were no better.
Time bled away, and Xavier was about to resort to harsher measures when Julliard arrived.

Gone was his usual refinement. His expression was storm-dark, lips pressed into a hard line, eyes glinting with a deadly, predatory cold.
The moment he saw Lex, Julliard lunged forward and seized him by the collar.
“Where is Sharon?!”
Lex showed not a trace of fear. He looked at Julliard as if he were nothing more than an annoyance.
“I don’t know,” he said lightly.
The next instant, Julliard’s fist crashed into his face.
Even Xavier froze-Lex most of all.
The man renowned for his cultivated gentility, Julliard, was striking him?.
Julliard’s eyes burned red, his voice hoarse with rage. “I’ll ask you one last time. Where is Sharon?”
Lex staggered to the ground. He hauled himself up, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth, his hawk-like eyes narrowing to a glacial sharpness.
“Find her yourself. You’ll get nothing by beating me into a confession.”
He fixed Julliard with an unyielding stare, voice like ice.
“Even if you kill me today, I have only three words for you-I. Don’t. Know.”
