Chapter 932

Jamie stared at the disconnected phone, suspicion flickering in his eyes.

Did Thomas truly know their exact location, or had he only been bluffing?

To avoid being tracked, Jamie never carried a personal phone. If something required his attention, he used his subordinates’ devices instead.

Lex, however, had been summoned on short notice at noon. Unaware of the full situation, he naturally carried his own phone. Even if Jamie had tried to forbid it, Lex would never have agreed. They weren’t close enough for that kind of trust-if Jamie turned on him, he’d need at least one way to call for help.

Lex, having overheard enough of the exchange with Thomas, spoke up.

“Whether he’s bluffing or not, once Julliard’s people trace my phone, they’ll know where we are. Our position won’t stay hidden

for long.”

He handed the device to one of Jamie’s men to be destroyed.

“This place isn’t safe. We should leave immediately.”

Jamie understood the logic, but he wasn’t ready to let Sharon slip through his fingers so easily. He fell silent for a moment, then said coldly, “Bring the two women along.”

Lex froze, his eyelids twitching hard.

“Jamie, have you completely lost your mind? You’ve already taught her a lesson-enough is enough. Listoria City is sealed off. The two of us leaving unnoticed won’t be easy as it is. With two women in tow, we’ll stand out like a beacon. You know that.”

To him, Jamie truly seemed deranged. Whether or not Sharon had exposed Victoria’s parentage was still uncertain. At worst, Victoria’s reputation had taken a hit, but she hadn’t suffered any real harm. Yet Jamie clung to his grudge, tormenting Sharon beyond reason.,

Jamie hesitated briefly, as though weighing the risks.

Lex exhaled quietly, thinking he’d finally backed down-only to hear Jamie say, “Release Wendy. Let her draw their attention. In the meantime, we’ll use the distraction to get out of Listoria City.”

In other words, Sharon was still coming with him.

Lex glanced at Sharon’s pale, battered figure. What had Sharon done-slaughter Jamie’s entire family?

He gave up on reasoning. “If you insist, I won’t waste my breath. But for me, this ends here. Once we leave, we part ways.”

He wanted to sever ties completely.

Jamie didn’t care. At this point, releasing Sharon or dragging her along made little difference-she would live, but only barely. That was enough.

They split up.

Wendy was forced into another vehicle, meant as bait to divert Julliard’s pursuit. Sharon, however, was kept under Jamie’s personal watch.

Inside the car, Jamie drove a blade through Sharon’s hand, pinning it to the leather seat. Blood seeped across the pristine

cushion.

Her hair fell loose and disheveled around her face, her eyes closed as though unconscious.

Convenient, really-better she stay quiet than scream and draw attention.

Jamie glanced at her and let out a soft, derisive snort.

At least she knew her place. Had she not been Victoria’s sworn enemy, he might have spared her. But now, it was kill or be killed.

The car rolled steadily down the road. Their vehicle was plain, understated-hardly worth a second look. After boarding, one of his men carefully altered Jamie’s features with makeup, ensuring he’d go unrecognized.
