Chapter 112 I Pissed Off Julian
“No, it’s not that I forgot to wear it! It’s just… it’s…” Rosalie stumbled, the words tangling on
her tongue.
Julian’s eyes narrowed as he leaned in. “It’s what?”
Her scalp prickled under that stare, and she blurted, “I don’t wear knockoffs. So, I left it in the bedroom.”
Julian was left speechless.
The room fell into a deadly silence.
The warmth drained from Julian’s face a shade at a time. Then, he stood and said, “Enjoy your dinner.”
He stormed to the door and slammed it hard enough to rattle the walls.
Rosalie bit her lip until it stung, realizing she’d said the wrong thing again.
She grabbed her phone and typed fast, “It’s not that I dislike it for being a knockoff. If the crystals are resin–filled, they’re not good for my skin. I didn’t feel safe wearing it. But since. it’s your gift, I kept it boxed up in my room.”
She hesitated, then added carefully, “Maybe next time you could get me a glass bead bracelet. I promise I’ll wear it every day!”
Glass beads wouldn’t cost much, and at least they were safe to wear.
However, Julian never replied.
Rosalie panicked and sent one more message. “I’m sorry.”
She lowered her head in frustration. Nothing was going right today.
Rosalie opened Ursula’s chat. “Ursie, I’m doomed! I think I just pissed off Julian.”
Ursula called immediately. “What happened?”
Rosalie told her everything that had happened earlier.
On the other end, Ursula went quiet, then sputtered, “Hold on. Did you get the bracelet appraised before you called it fake?”
“If it were real, it would start at 50 million,” Rosalie said certainly. “Julian’s payroll card is with me. How would he afford that?”
“Oh my God!” Ursula sounded like she might climb the walls. “What if it’s real? You basically

crushed his feelings under your heel. You hurt him!”
Rosalie bit her lips and said, “Then, I’ll put it on when I get home.”
Even if it was resin–filled, wearing it for a little while wouldn’t kill her. She could always take
it off at night.
Ursula clicked her tongue. “Even if you wear it now, I doubt it will smooth him over.”
He paused for a moment, then suddenly snapped, “Wait, what’s wrong with Lucian? You both already have partners, yet he still talks nonsense in front of Julian. He’s not over you, so he keeps showing up just to get your attention and make Julian look bad!
“I’m warning you, Rosalie. Don’t let a few sweet words drag you back to Lucian!”
Rosalie let out a cold laugh. “Do I really look that naive? I never knew Lucian was such a jerk. Now, I just regret treating him so well. All it did was hand him the leverage to hurt me.”
“Save the philosophy and figure out how to make up with Julian,” Ursula said, blunt as ever. This time, you really set him off.”
When the call ended, Rosalie let out a long sigh.
The steaks arrived, still sizzling, but her appetite was gone. She forced down a couple of bites, then set her knife and fork aside and went to the counter to pay.
“The gentleman already took care of it,” the owner said with a smile.
Rosalie was stunned. She suddenly recalled Lucian calling Julian a freeloader.
But the truth was, even when he was furious with her, Julian had still paid the bill. Maybe this was his quiet way of saying he was nothing like what Lucian called him.
