Chapter 103 If Lucian Can Do It, Why Can’t I
Rosalie returned to her apartment that evening. With bags of groceries in tow, she was prepared to start cooking.
Out of nowhere, a message from Julian appeared. “Something came up tonight. I won’t be back
for dinner.‘
Rosalie’s heart sank.
Even though he said he’d forgiven her, it was obvious he wasn’t ready to move on.
The following day, she received a message from Lucian.
“Are you satisfied now?”
The question arrived out of the blue.
Rosalie frowned, her mind racing with confusion.
She was tempted to ask Lucian what the hell his problem was, but in the end, she simply
turned off her phone.
Talking to someone like him felt exhausting and pointless.
Instead, she sent a message to Richard. “Can you look into what’s going on with Fenwick Corp lately?”
Richard was quick. He called her back before lunchtime.
“Ms. Ashford, Fenwick Corp has been stirring up trouble. They’ve been clashing with Yarwood Group and have already taken several major projects from them.”
“But just yesterday, they took a massive tumble!” Richard added, a pleased smile tugging at his lips.
“I heard it was Mr. Yarwood himself pulling the strings. He set a decoy project as bait, and Fenwick Corp jumped right in. Now they’re stuck with hundreds of millions in frozen assets, and their stock’s plummeting!”
Rosalie narrowed her eyes.
It was no surprise that Lucian had sent her that message.
Was he trying to blame her for the entire loss?
“It’s strange,” Richard continued. “Mr. Fenwick seems to have developed some sort of ‘third eye‘ this past month. He’s been predicting market trends with eerie accuracy.

“Every project he’s taken from Yarwood Group has been incredibly profitable. It’s no wonder Mr. Yarwood had to step in personally to handle him.”
A third eye?
Rosalie’s lips twisted into a cold smile.
It wasn’t because Lucian had some special gift. He was just like her. He had already lived through it all once before.
He had simply mastered the art of using his foresight to perfection.
A thought flickered in her mind. “If Lucian can do it… Why can’t I?”
Rosalie’s gaze sharpened. She quickly opened Julian’s chat window.
Her fingers flew across the keyboard as she typed. “How’s the development of your fire station’s search–and–rescue drones going?”
A response came shortly after. “It’s still in the testing phase. There are a lot of operational issues to work through.”
A slight smile tugged at the corners of Rosalie’s lips. “I can assist with the development, and I won’t charge you a dime. But there’s one condition. The drones must be equipped with the Firmament System.”
Having been through two fires herself, Rosalie understood the danger and desperation of being trapped in a blaze like no one else.
Surrounded by thick smoke, searing heat, and falling debris, every second was a fight to stay
alive.
If advanced search–and–rescue drones were built, they could enter hazardous areas in place of firefighters. This would enhance rescue efforts and potentially save more lives.
Rosalie remembered it clearly. In her past life, it had taken three long years to overcome every obstacle in developing this technology. But ultimately, it won a gold medal at the International AI Competition.
Armed with Firmament System’s core algorithm, she had everything she needed to introduce a technology three years ahead of its time.
This breakthrough wouldn’t just establish Firmament System as the trusted partner for fire stations.nationwide; it would also secure her a gold medal at the International AI Competition before the year was over.
Lost in her thoughts, Rosalie’s phone suddenly vibrated.
A message from Julian appeared. “We’ll need to have a meeting to make a decision.”

“Okay, I’ll wait for your update.”
That evening, Rosalie quietly enjoyed the pasta she had made. Without warning, the door lock to her apartment clicked open.
Julian’s tall silhouette appeared in the doorway.
Rosalie froze, caught completely off guard.
She never imagined he’d turn up just to grab a free dinner.
Without hesitation, she set down her fork and stood up. “The pasta’s just for me, but I’ll start cooking something for you right now.”
With that, she headed to the kitchen and pulled a tomato from the fridge. She proceeded to rinse it under running water.
Julian came in after her. Crossing his arms, he leaned back against the doorframe.
Suddenly, his deep voice resonated from behind her. “The station staff has unanimously agreed to partner with you. They have faith in your abilities.”
Rosalie turned back, clutching the tomato in her hand.
“Really? Thank you so much for trusting me! I promise I won’t let you down,” she said with a radiant smile.
Just as she was about to get back to cooking, Julian’s expression suddenly darkened.
Closing the distance, he took the tomato from her hands and gently pushed her aside.
“I’ll handle this,” he said quietly.
Rosalie frowned in confusion.
Julian looked down, his gaze resting on her hands. “What’s on your nails?”
