Chapter 111 

“Alright then. I’ll shut off the water valve for now and come back to fix it tomorrow,” Caleb replied. 

Valeria could feel Sebastian’s gaze turn colder. 

She said, “I’m bringing Selena to my grandmother’s home tomorrow. We won’t be home for a few days, but turning off the valve for now should stop any leaks.” 

“Alright.” Caleb glanced at the time and noticed that it was getting late. He walked to the door, but turned around to look at Sebastian, who was still sitting on the couch. 

Valeria followed him to the door, and just as she was about to close it, Caleb frowned and said, “That guy…” 

Sebastian hadn’t looked too friendly when he glanced at Caleb. 

Valeria turned slightly, catching a glimpse of Sebastian through her peripheral vision. He was still seated on the small sofa in her living room, showing no intention of leaving. She didn’t know how to explain their relationship. 

So, she had no choice but to grit her teeth and say, “He’s my cousin.” 

What else could she say? Was she supposed to call him her boyfriend? Well, he wasn’t. 

What then? A doctor who came to celebrate a patient’s birthday? That sounded even more 

ridiculous. 

And that cold, sudden, familiar kiss just now was still lingering on her lips. 

She didn’t like to lie, but ever since she had met Sebastian, she seemed to be lying constantly. 

“I see.” Caleb scratched his head. “He doesn’t seem to like me very much.” 

Why would he need to like Caleb? There was nothing for two men to like about one another. That was Valeria’s first thought. 

She replied, “Well, that’s just how my cousin is…” 

Caleb actually wanted to say more. He wanted to mention that even if they were relatives, it 

was still too late for a man to be staying over at her place. 

But Valeria had already closed the door. 

Caleb rubbed his nose. He’d been thinking about asking Valeria out to a movie next week. Something felt off, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. So he changed his shoes and left. 

In the living room, Valeria took a deep breath.

Then, she saw Sebastian throw the flowers and cake straight into the trash. 

If the trash can had been any bigger, he probably would have thrown the backpack in as well. 

Valeria felt a headache coming on. “Is that enough? Can you leave now?” 

Sebastian stood up and casually undid his watch, which was worth hundreds of thousands, and tossed it on the coffee table without a single care. It landed with a thud. 

Then, he headed for the bathroom while he rolled up his sleeves, revealing his strong 

forearms. 

Valeria quickly followed him. She watched as Sebastian’s noble figure crouched down, opened the water pipe, and started to inspect it. 

He frowned slightly, looking very focused. 

Valeria gasped in surprise. She never expected Sebastian to do this. 

Sebastian was actually fixing her water pipe in her tiny attic bathroom? 

Valeria stood at the door in a daze, looking like she had just seen something absolutely unbelievable. She looked a little like a cartoon character at that moment. 

“The next time your water pipe breaks, just call your cousin. Understand?” Sebastian’s tone wasn’t the most serious. 

The coldness in his expression had vanished, replaced by a teasing smile. He looked totally different from the man who had been so desperately kissing her in the living room just now. 

Sebastian examined the pipe. “I don’t see any leaks.” 

Valeria stood at the door and said, “The valve is off.” 

When Sebastian reached up to turn on the valve, Valeria cried out, “Wait. Don’t open it…‘ 

The water pipe in the old building had been in use for many years. The moment it was turned on, a jet of murky, rusty water sprayed out, hitting Sebastian right on his face and shirt.
