Jackson felt as if he’d been struck by lightning, his fingers tightening around the phone: “WHAT did you just say?!” 

At that precise moment, the car entered a tunnel, cutting off the signal and disconnecting the call. 

“Turn around! To the Devereaux estate!” Jackson’s voice was terrifyingly cold, his eyes burning with unprecedented 

rage. 

The assistant was so frightened he nearly lost control of the steering wheel as he quickly reversed direction. 

He had never seen Jackson like this- 

The typically composed, self–controlled man now had bloodshot eyes, his jaw clenched so tightly it seemed he might shatter his teeth, looking as if he might explode at any second. 

The car raced to the Devereaux mansion, where Jackson kicked the door open and stormed inside. 

Richard Devereaux was sitting on the sofa drinking tea, nearly dropping his cup in fright: “Jackson? What brings 

you here?” 

“Scarlett’s been married off to Miami?” Jackson enunciated each word as if forcing them through clenched teeth. 

Richard blinked, then smiled ingratiatingly: “Yes, three days ago. You always complained about Scarlett’s roublesome behavior, right? When Miami’s dying heir offered five hundred million for a bride to bring him luck, I gave her to him. It works out perfectly–now you can be with Lily without any interference…” 

“Who told you I love Lily?!” 

Jackson slammed his fist into the coffee table, instantly shattering the glass surface. 

He couldn’t believe this so–called father had sold his own daughter for five hundred million! 

‘Security,” his voice was glacial, “demolish this mansion. Everything.” 

The assistant immediately led a team inside. Porcelain, furniture, paintings… everything was reduced to fragments 

within moments. 

Richard’s face turned ashen: “Jackson! What are you doing?!” 

‘As of today, Devereaux Industries…” Jackson measured each word, “will be liquidated.” 

“No! Jackson! You can’t do this!” Richard fell to his knees, begging, “For the sake of my friendship with your father…” 

“Friendship?” Jackson laughed coldly. “You dare mention friendship?”

Just then, Lily burst into the room. 

“Jackson! Why are you doing this to Uncle Richard?!” Suddenly understanding, she screamed hysterically, “You’ve fallen for Scarlett, haven’t you?!” 

“Yes. And what of it?” 

Lily felt as if she’d been struck by lightning, then began laughing maniacally: “But she’ll never love you again!” 

“You loved her but never said it, while everyone thought you loved me!” She screamed wildly. “I bribed your housekeeper to fill your study with my photos–guess what Scarlett saw?” 

“And those inmates who ‘took care‘ of her in prison? I arranged it all in your name!” 

“You know why she burned down the villa? Because I told her you copied surveillance videos of your intimate moments just to have leverage over her!” 

Lily’s laughter grew twisted: “She wasn’t forced into marriage–she willingly married someone else because she 

completely lost faith in you!” 

“Given Scarlett’s personality, even if you explained everything clearly, she would never return to you!” 

“After all, YOU copied those videos, YOU went to pick me up at the airport, and YOU personally sent her to 

detention!” 

“This is all YOUR doing!” 

Each word stabbed into Jackson’s heart like a knife. 

He recalled Scarlett’s unusual behavior in recent days- 

She no longer threw tantrums, no longer clung to him, didn’t even bother responding to his messages. She burned down the villa and left cleanly, without looking back. 

So she had seen those photographs, heard those rumors, and completely given up on him. 

As for the videos… 

He had indeed copied them, but only to keep for himself. He treasured every memory of her–her furrowed brow during moments of passion, the way she bit her lip to stay quiet, the flush that spread across her cheeks when she climaxed… He couldn’t bear to delete those images. 

But now, all of it had become weapons that wounded her. 

“Lily Bennett.” He turned to her, his voice cold as ice. “You will pay for this.” 

Richard lunged forward, grabbing his arm: “Jackson! You can’t do this! The Devereaux family has a centuries old legacy, and your father and I were best friends. You can’t.”

“I can.” Jackson shook off his hand, his eyes devoid of warmth. “I’ll give you one option.” 

“Send Lily and her mother…” he emphasized each word, “to marry that seventy–year–old Boston Brahmin with the 

liver spots.” 

“Otherwise, by this time tomorrow, Devereaux Industries will cease to exist.” 

Richard trembled violently, finally gritting his teeth: “Guards! Tie them up!” 

Lily screamed and struggled: “Uncle Richard! How could you?! You said my mother was your first love, and you’d treat me like your own daughter!” 

“Shut up!” Richard slapped her hard. “If you hadn’t interfered, none of this would have happened!” 

Amid Lily and her mother’s hysterical cries, Jackson walked out without a backward glance. 

“Prepare the jet,” he instructed his assistant. “We’re going to Miami immediately.” 

Inside the car, Jackson clutched the pearl necklace so tightly his knuckles turned white. 

He couldn’t imagine Scarlett married to someone else. 

He couldn’t let his wild kitten belong to another man. 

Even if he had to move heaven and earth, even if it cost him everything. 

He had to bring Scarlett back!
