Chapter 135 If Chloe Wanted to Use Him, He’d Let Her 

Carla was clearly trying to use the Quall family’s influence to make Chloe smooth over all of Sonya’s 

current negative press. 

After all, the Greens and Millers had already tried to suppress the news and online chaos, but it simply 

couldn’t be contained. 

The matter was only escalating. If things continued like this, not only would it ruin Sonya’s image as the 

hero who’d saved people during the fire, but she might also be kicked out of AeroQuest Airlines. 

So, the top priority was to quash the negative press. 

Brian was standing behind Chloe. If he were willing to step in, the matter would be handled. 

Willow also seized the chance to say, “That’s right, Great–Grandpa. Sonya had such a bright future ahead of her, but she’s ended up like this because of Chloe. Shouldn’t Chloe be held responsible? Or are you going to cover for her because she has Brian backing her now?” 

Willow’s words made Geoffrey frown. He looked at Willow with a sharp gaze. “I didn’t know you’d become 

so eloquent!” 

Despite Geoffrey’s stare, Willow continued, “I just think that Sonya’s really pitiful. She worked so hard to 

get everything she has, but Chloe destroyed it so easily.” 

“Chloe didn’t ruin her. She ruined everything herself!” Geoffrey had naturally heard some bits of 

information about the scandal after it blew up so much. 

“Are you saying that Chloe bears no blame at all? Even though they’re related, Chloe pressed Sonya so hard during the interview that she left halfway. Otherwise, she would never have been kidnapped!” Willow said unhappily. 

Then, she continued, “Or is the Quall family a place where we can do whatever we want as long as we have a strong enough backer?” 

Of course, the backer she was referring to was Brian. 

She wanted to make Chloe the target of everyone’s anger and to turn the Quall family against Chloe. She also wanted to avenge Leonard for the humiliation he’d just suffered because of Chloe. 

Before Geoffrey could respond, Brian spoke up. 

“So, with me as her backer, she can do whatever she wants in the Quall family?” he asked in a cool, unhurried voice. 

Willow stiffened and turned to him. “Isn’t that exactly what’s happening? Chloe’s acting so recklessly because of you. She even punched my dad just now. She showed him no respect even though he’s her elder. Brian, she’s just using you as a tool. Can’t you see that?”

Brian’s lips curved up faintly. “Is that so? If she’s using me as a tool, I’d be really happy.” 

At least that would mean that she needed him. 

“What did you say?” Willow stared at Brian in disbelief, unable to accept that such words had come from a man who was usually so proud and aloof. 

The others around them also looked stunned. Only a love–struck fool would say such a thing. 

But could Brian really be a love–struck fool? With his looks and the rumors surrounding him, how could anyone think of him that way? 

“I said, if Chloe wants to use me, I’d gladly accept it!” Brian’s voice rang loud and clear, his gaze softening 

as it landed on Chloe. 

It was as if being used by Chloe was the best thing in the world. 

Willow gritted her teeth. Brian’s words struck her like a harsh slap across the face, especially with so many members of the Quall family present. 

They’d always assumed that she and Brian were destined to be together. Yet, Brian had publicly admitted to dating Chloe during that interview and now, with those words, he was basically declaring that Chloe was the only woman in his heart. 

As for Willow, she was nothing. 

There was no way she could accept that. 

“Brian, have you forgotten what happened to your parents? Do you think Chloe can handle the weight of the feelings of a member of the Steele family? If she betrays you one day, then you-” Willow said. 

Brian’s face suddenly darkened, and his eyes flashed with menace. 

Just as he was about to act, Chloe quickly grabbed his hand and stepped forward, facing Willow. 

“Whether I can bear his feelings is between him and me. It’s not for you to comment on it. As for his parents, it’s definitely not your place to comment. 

“Willow, if you keep spouting such useless nonsense, I’ll hit you. The more nonsense you spout, the more I’ll hit you. You can go ahead and try!” 

“You…” Willow bit her lip, the image of Chloe just punching Leonard making her hesitate. 

Brian stared at Chloe in a daze. Chloe gripped his hand tightly, as if she were quietly trying to tell him that she wouldn’t leave him no matter what happened. 

Chloe turned to look at Geoffrey. “Great–Uncle, I only came today to reclaim my parents‘ house. I’ll send all the relevant paperwork to the authorities afterward. I hope Uncle Leonard won’t cause any more trouble.” 

“If he dares to do anything, I’ll kick him out of the family!” Geoffrey snapped.

Hearing his promise, Chloe finally felt reassured. “Then, Brian and I will head back now. Please take care of your health, Great–Uncle. I’ll come to see you again soon.” 

“Alright, but make sure you visit me often,” Geoffrey replied. 

Chloe nodded, taking Brian’s hand and turning to leave. 

But Brian’s gaze suddenly turned cold as he looked at Willow, whose face was etched with resentment. Since you said that Chloe is doing whatever she pleases because I’m backing her, then from now on, you have nothing to do with me or the Steele family, Willow.” 

In other words, Chloe was the only one he would help. 

Willow looked at Brian in shock. “Brian, what are you saying? What do you mean I have nothing to do with you or the Steele family?” 

Leonard started to panic as well. Losing Walter’s house just meant he would miss out on some demolition compensation, but Brian cutting ties with Willow was a disaster. 

“That’s right. How could you say that? Back then, you nearly blinded Willow in one eye, but she’s never once voiced any complaints. Even after years of failed treatments, she’s always said she doesn’t blame you. How can you treat her like this right now?” Leonard said. 

He took the chance to try to smear Chloe’s reputation. “Chloe must have been speaking ill of Willow behind her back and influencing you!” 

Brian’s gaze was just as icy as it fell on Leonard. In that instant, Leonard felt every hair on his body stand on end, as if a predator were staring him down. He felt as if he would be utterly destroyed if he dared to say another word against Chloe. 

“Back then, I nearly blinded Willow in one eye. All these years, I’ve given her and the Quall family more than enough as compensation. I didn’t care about it before, but from now on, you won’t get anything from me,” Brian said. 

He glanced at Willow, his expression utterly devoid of warmth. “Whatever you’ve gained in the Quall 

family was only thanks to what you got from the Steele family. But you should never have used that to go against Chloe.”
